“Ibis the Accor experience,south of downtown Cancun”

the hotel is new , October 2011. It is in the Accor chain, a French company operating world-wide ( >Motel 6 is also in Accor). Ibis is the same format everywhere, very European. The rooms are quiet, with double pane noise isolating windows (they do not open, so AC is always needed). The location is great, in an upscale neighborhood, right across from the large mall Las Americas. Attention: there are no crosswalks to the mall on the very busy streets, which are a major intersection. The safest way to and from the mall is by taxi. The fitness center is .5 km up the street - the cross street can be crossed behind the hotel to the sidewalk in front of the small jungle on that side. As you walk by those trees, going north, you will see lots of iquanas next to the sidewalk or underneath it. They will run away, but they are right there and you will be startled by them. The club is Sport City. A copy of your passport is needed to prove you are a tourist. Cost is US$15 for the whole day. Sport City is the perfect gym and has a great indoor lap pool. (bring a swim cap or buy one there). Locker, towels included - you need rubber - flip flops sandals for the showers.

Great location for downtown business, very clean and a walking distance of the mall, I find it really good and within reasonable prices in food and extra services

“Hotel away from the beach”

The hotel is away from the beach and most tours to Chichen Itza or other ruins don't pick up from this hotel. It does have a car rental, and tour agency near the lobby for arranging airport shuttles or tours. We could easily buy food from the supermarket, restaurant near the lobby, or from the nearby Las Americas mall. Ideal cheap accomodation, especially if you rent a car.

Great value and away from the crowds. Although it located walking distance from a huge mall with cinemas and several restaurants, it is better suit for those with a car since it is away from the beach. Otherwise, the only other consideration is to know that the room is a bit small. Overall, an excellent choice for quality, cleanliness, and service.

“Great inexpensive Cancun hotel.”

This is a "no nonsense" hotel, located in downtown Cancun, which is quite a distance from the Hotel Zone. If you are looking for an inexpensive, quality hotel for a brief stay, then I would recommend this hotel. The hotel elevators can't be used without a valid electronic room key, which you have to insert into the elevator electronic panel. You need to go either go up or down the elevator. I can't give any info on the restaurant because I didn't eat there. Checking in and out was a "breeze".

“Depend on your needs price is good it can improve”

The key room never worked and the staff wasn't very polite. The beds are really small.They don't have lunch. Breakfast until 10:00 am and no room service.

We only spent one night there on our way to Tulum, and for our purposes it was OK but I wouldnt recommend it for a longer stay: location is really unappealing. We arrived at midnight and the room they gave us had not been cleaned, although this was quickly resolved. Computers at the webcorner did not connect to The internet
