Very good hotel on beach.

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Cons: The staff was very competent and helpful.
Location: The dinner choices were limited and not very good.
The rooms, pool and all other facilities were top notch. Many interactive activities were offered. The beach was groomed daily. The entire hotel was cleaned daily.

Superb for those needing a quiet getaway

Wonderful all inclusive on a fabulous Mexican island. Quiet. Not for those who wAnt many restaurants ant a fast paced activity schedule but this is exactly what we wanted. Everything included including calls to US from the room and wifi free everywhere. Rented scooters and went all over the island. Fabulous stay and people everywhere nice.

Quiet Vacation in Spring Break Cancun!

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: Quieter experience during the Spring Break season, with very responsive staff.
Cons: Improve cleaning/facility maintenance, improve food variety/quality (management's working on this now) and set a better value/cost ratio.
Spring break in Cancun can be very noisy, but choosing the Palace Resort on Isla de Mujeres gives you the same great weather, same choices of things to do, but at a much more laid back ambiance. The resort was not 4 or 5 star quality across the board and may seem over priced to many. The staff was 5 star, very responsive and eager to please. The food was average in variety and taste, and frequently only lukewarm when served. A new chef had just started a few days ago but seemed eager to improve. My guess is that he will succeed. The noise from the commercial tourist excursion activities on each side of the resort was not excessive to me (in Room 207) and stopped each night around 10:00PM or so anyway. The beach area was great; however, the water was spoiled by too much seaweed. If you only want to spend time on the sand, the beach is very good. The pool area was excellent. The North area of the island is more touristy/crowded/loud/Spring Breaky. The best way to see the island is to rent a golf cart in the North area and just explore at will. There are hundreds of these carts running around at any given moment. The Palace resort is adults only, was not too crowded, and makes a good choice for those looking for a quieter vacation.

Awesome place to stay!

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Everything was excellent!
Cons: They need to have more exciting events in the evenings. After dinners, ist pretty much lights out and that's a little dull if you are young.
Location: Dolphin Encounters, Turtle Farm, Garrafon Park, Downtown area at night, North Shore Beaches of the island.
We loved staying at his hotel and resort! It was perfect for a quiet, romantic, and private get away or honney moon or special occasion. The hotel was very beautiful. The staff was very helpful and caring. The views were amazing as well.

Average, at best

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Rooms. Beach area.
Cons: Food isn't great at all, and the service is frenetic and disorganized.
Location: Dolphin Discovery. Golf cart ride around the island to the lighthouse, where $3 takes you to a beautiful view of the cliffs and the ocean.
Rooms are very nice. Beach and pool area are nice too, but the food is average, at best, and the service is very spotty and disorganized. Would not stay here again.

5 Days in the SUN

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: The Beds are Okay
Cons: Accually the service needs to be improved. The Food is terrible and the Drinks are very limited.
Location: Beaches on Both sides are Fun.
We stayed for 5 nights and just returned Yesterday. The Weather was Fantastic. The Resort itself is very Old and the Food is not very good at all. The service is the slowest I have ever experienced. Its very difficult to get a Drink and they run out of the Good Booze almost daily. Make the best of it and rent a Golf Cart and see the Island. Go Downtown and eat as it is some what better.

Relaxing Vacation

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Attention to detail and willingness to please.
Cons: The only problem I had was with the bed. It was too hard and caused me pain in my back and hips.
Location: The beach is small and you will need to take a taxi or golf cart to get to activities.
We have been many places in Mexico and decided after a day trip here last year we would stay on the island this year and we are so glad we did. This resort was quiet, clean, and incredibly accommodating. They picked us up in a beautiful yacht and while serving drinks explained the history of the island to us. We were greeted by staff who checked us in quickly, offering warm towels and mojitos. This continued our entire stay. My friend, after dinner one night, asked for chocolate cake and whipped cream which wasn't on the menu and they brought it to her. The next morning she and her husband asked for cappuccino's and again they brought them! The food was over the top; wood fired pizzas, filet mignon, grilled shrimp, etc... I recommend the "romantic dinner" on the beach. We rented a golf cart and went to the other side of the island and enjoyed the beach and restaurants there. We met people who went into town one night for "Mardi Gras" and said it was a blast. There is something for everyone on this beautiful little island. I would recommend this quaint hotel if you are looking for a low key, pampered stay. Well worth the money! We will definitely return!

A Beautiful, Peaceful All Inclusive Couples Resort

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! Never ending food, drinks and smiles were always available.
Cons: Would have enjoyed an evening or two of live music. But would never deter us from coming back.
Location: Everything was close and easily attainable by walking, renting a golf cart or by taxi.
The front desk staff were always available with any questions on the hotel, activities on the island, or any concerns you may have like, "what's the temperature going to be today? or Will I need a sweater?" (of course I'm smiling...") The buffet was always delicious, as well as the wait staff catering to your every need. We enjoyed the beautiful pool with comfortable lounge chairs and the swim-up bar, or step out of the pool to enjoy the open air/shaded bar. We had our choice of pizza with several toppings that was fresh baked in their own outdoor brick oven, or a menu full of other delicious snacks. The ocean colors were gorgeous and only steps away from our room, with breathtaking sunsets to end the day.
