Fell in Love with Isla Mujeres
Posted Jan 19, 2013
Pros: This hotel is located on the BEST Beach on the Island by far!
Cons: The Towels in the Room and on the Beach could be improved - they were not bad, but they were thinner than preferred. Not a big deal.
Location: There is so much to do within minutes from the Hotel. Dont waste your time eating on the main road, walk a block or two to taste the difference!!!
My ratings of consistent 4 out of 5's are mainly because we were never in the Hotel - we were out exploring!! When we were at the hotel, everything was good. The Front Desk staff were always friendly with great eye contact. The room we had was basic, and comfy for a 5 night trip. The shower was large, great water pressure, with OK towels. The Air Conditioning worked very well in our room. The TV was OK, but again - we weren't in Isla Mujeres to watch TV. Room Service was good. The Wait staff on the Beach were awesome, if you run into Arturo, "R2D2" - he is a class act, and provides great service. The Chairs provided on the beach were very comfortable, and they have great umbrellas. There is a Massage Area on the beach in front of the Hotel and it looks like they have great specials. Next door to the Hotel is Luxury Golf Cart Rental, and I highly recommend you rent a Golf Cart from them versus someone by the Ferry. They are all the same price - regardless of condition of cart. Being able to ride around the town on the Golf Cart was one of our favorite parts of the trip. Also, - THIS IS IMPORTANT - You should not use your American Cash for your food, beverage, and other purchases - GET PESOS. You will get more for your money and have a better time.

Beautiful rooms, located on the best beach on isla
Posted Jan 9, 2013
we spent one beautiful week on Isla Mujeres, staying at the Ixchel. Our room was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel is right on the beach, and staff set up chairs and umbrellas for you as soon as you set foot on the beach. They bring you whatever you need: drinks and food. The staff at Ixchel all speak English, and are very happy to give you recommendations and directions if you need them. They will arrange golf cart rental for the day. On a side note, I'd recommend Happy Day tours if you want to go snorkeling. They take you out on a boat to a beautiful reef where you can see loads of gorgeous fish, and we even saw a turtle. Incredible! Also, a fantastic restaurant is Los Fueguitos, an argentinian place. It's not on the main road, it's near the town plaza just past the road with all the other restaurants. I can't tell you how good the food is, and it's a gorgeous location; you can sit right by the water with the waves crashing against the rocks. Very romantic!

Pros: The comfort and spaciousness of the room .
Location: Perfectly located to the beach and Hildago Av where a majority of shops and places to eat are. Btw, food at all the places we tried was excellent
We had a 1 bedroom suite with a spacious balcony. Extremely nice and very clean. The ocean breeze was spectacular . We will be back.

Love this hotel - book a patio
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Location, beach and staff
Cons: No patio
Location: Perfect, close to everything, and amazing beach
Highly recommend this hotel, but be sure to get a room with a patio. We didn't and ended up using the hotel dryer for our wet beach clothes. Perfect location with crazy friendly staff and by far the best beach on the island. Hotel food and are drinks were delicious. Most of the other guests were quite relaxed, so there fortunately wasn't a spring-break atmosphere.

Beautiful Beach in Front of Hotel.
Posted Jan 7, 2013
Pros: Close to town and the beach
Cons: Noise in the morning and issues with the Wi-Fi.
Location: Sits on one of the World's Best Beaches, rated by Trip Advisor
This is a nice hotel on the beach. The units are owned by individuals and are decorated and out-fitted to the owners taste. One block from the main street for dining and shopping. Close to the pier. A little noisy in the mornings. The pool is small, but they do a great job at the beach with plenty of beach lounge chairs, umbrellas and staff. They bring you food and drink at the beach, for a fee. We were there over Easter Break and there were a lot of small children. If you book a room, with double beds. You will not have a balcony!

Spring Break
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Pros: Location. Every room has a view. Great breeze. You can charge to your room from several restaurants in town.
Cons: Our room only had a view from the balcony. Vendors for paddle boards, etc on the beach only took cash.
Location: The pool and beach are literally right at your feet. Vendors on the beach and in town were not pushy. We always felt safe and welcomed.
The two bedrooms have large balconies with fabulous views. We were in a 1 bedroom Penthouse and the view the fabulous view from from the balcony but not the room. Not all 1-bedrooms have balconies. We had a hottub which they cleaned whenever I asked. The hotel was busy as it was Easter week but all staff were quick to respond and pleasant. The location to downtown is closer than walking to a lobby in a large hotel. Very pleasant for the entire family.
