“Pleasant Staff”

Room was very nice. Booked beach front, but room was not available. Manager compensated appropriately. Hotel is very close to many good restaurants.

The hotel was as clean as could be imagined and the staff were welcoming and responsive. The front desk was being remodeled and new furniture and artwork was added while we were there and the process didn't interfere with our use of the lobby at all. It looks very nice. The rooms and suites are beautiful with a large balcony or terrace and all the room fixtures are great. The beds are very firm, but that's my preference. All charges to our room were correctly tallied at check-out. We had some apprehension about thumping disco music from a near-by bar/night club that several reviews on another website warned us about, but we didn't hear a thing from the disco. In fact, the front desk manager said they were working with the disco owner to keep the music tolerable for Ixchel's guests and seemed to have succeeded. We stayed 7 nights and we recommend the Ixchel to anyone; couples, families, etc. for a super relaxing and comfortable stay at a reasonable rate

“A great place to stay”

This was a great place to stay. Right on the beach. Even though we had reserved a beach front room and got ocean veiw the hotel was great about refunding the difference. We still had a terrific view regardless. The staff was very helpful and you are 1/2 block from town and again right on the beach. We had a one bedroom suite which included a living/dining area and a kitchen. The only negative thing I would say is the beds/pillows are on the firm side and at times you got noise from the outside hallway.

I think the hotel has a great location, near Northen beach. It is very clean and the staff very kind and helpful for ordinary matters. In case of serious problems, like that one I had, the staff at reception looks like without problem solving spirit: they say not to have powers for nothing... Neither to call someone alse...

Overall, I was very pleased with my stay at Ixchel. The hotel was spotless, the staff very friendly, helpful and quite polite. Location was also perfect--away from the downtown noise but close enough to walk to everything. Beach area was small and congested. Strict assigned area. Staff at beach very accomodating.

“Great Location, Great Room”

This was our first trip to Isla Mujeres and we definitely landed in the right place. The hotel is right at the north end of the island and right on the beautiful white sand beach. We choose the 1 bedroom apartment and it was very well decorated and comfortable. There is not a specific restaurant on premises but you can charge to your room from the Sunset Grill just up the beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

“What more could you want!”

This hotel is a great place to unwind. It's our first trip to Isla Mujeres and not the last. The other tourists we have talked to love Playa Norte and this hotel has a prime location. Stores are a block away if you want to grab some snacks to keep in your room. Staff is friendly and not pushy.

“GREAT value”

I would thoroughly recommend the Ixchel. The service was very friendly and professional, the location was beautiful (right on the beach!), and the rooms were perfectly fine. But I can't say enough about the service and the beach location - we paid very little and got a great deal of satisfaction!

“Heaven in Isla Mujeres!”

We arrived at the hotel around 9pm. Everything was ready for us and we were greeted with smiling faces. The room was just as we thought it would be - clean, large and modern. This hotel is not a 5-star hotel but this hotel is very nice and a great room for the price. What more can you ask for - beach, great location, clean room, beach bartenders, and good price. I would highly recommend this hotel. Also, the ferry has improved dramatically since I first visited Isla 20 years ago. The ferry from Puerto Juarez is about 3 dollars, one way and only takes 15 minutes. No excuse to not visit Isla!

“Love Ixchel!”

We absolutely love Ixchel and Playa Norte. The beach is outstanding, the accomadations are great. Everything is always clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. Our condo was well stocked with purified water, blender, coffeemaker, dishes for cooking simple meals. The beach is beautiful powder sand, the staff are so helpful when you walk out to the beach they immediately help you find/move chairs, set up an umbrella, take your order for food/drinks. the ocean is great here: clear, shallow, warm. On a windier day it is fun to play in the waves but have neer been afraid of safety either, small waves.
