JW Marriot CancunPosted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Location and services
Cons: Prices for activities in Cancun are expensive. Better leveraging of discounts would be helpful
Location: We just stayed on the beach, but things are close by via walking or bus.
We experienced excellent service. The location was perfect and the personnel were always at hand either maintaining the property or assisting others. Great pools, the kids love it. There is also a pool and patio only for adults. I would recommend purchasing the breakfast prior to booking. Food tends to not be cheap in Cancun, especially near the hotels. One of the best Marriots I have stayed.

Excellent hotel, great service, had some glitchesPosted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: Rooms squeaky clean and comfortable.Service exceptional. Pools huge with plenty of places to lounge. Restaurants awesome, including next door.
Cons: System glitches, airport shuttle clarification, breakfast seating and billing
Location: Bus picks up right outside...super cheap and easy. Aqua World is 5 min. walk for all kinds of water sports and activities. Beach is pristine, quiet.
Very nice hotel, especially for conventions, meetings, and families. Unfortunately some glitches caused problems. 1. Airport shuttle. When I see airport shuttle on the website, I assume a shuttle will pick me up at the airport. However, the shuttle is only for people who stay in a certain section of the hotel "91". I called the hotel from the airport and they couldn't help. I took a cab from the airport for $65. We had to arrange a return shuttle days in advance and pay a small amount ($16?). The return shuttle, by the way, was a very clean Suburban with a classy driver and comfortable ride. 2. We arrived at the hotel at 1 p.m. and couldn't check in. We waited until 4, after asking several times to check in, and they finally could do it. Check in process was super slow because their system was down. We stood for a long time at the front desk. 3. Breakfast seating - On 2 occasions we were seated for breakfast at an outside table, went to the (excellent) buffet, and returned to find our juice and coffee had been cleared and another couple had been sat. This led to awkward conversations with other travelers. 4. Included breakfast - We purchased breakfast included in our room price. This confused the staff each morning. We were billed twice and front desk fixed this on checkout. 5. Wish there was a coffee maker and fridge in the rooms to use. *I'd still highly recommend this hotel...I just want them to fix these issues. It's a Marriott after all, and very nice

Thank you very much for providing us with your feedback from your stay at our hotel. There is indeed an external company that handles airport transportation exclusively for both Marriott properties in Cancun, they do charge a fee for this service and it has to be booked in advance. We are reinforcing all our sell channels to avoid any misinterpretations. Our check-in time is at 4PM; we work hard to assign our rooms before that time but this might not be possible especially during high season. We have shared your comments with our restaurant manager to make sure that the problems in the service like to ones you described do not occur again. We truly appreciate your feedback.

Fantastico!Posted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Room size and adult pool.
Cons: An actual Starbuck's on location would've been heaven.
Location: Harry's restaurant was a nice treat. Expensive but a fun experience.
I stayed here with a small group of people and we had the best time. Initially I wondered if it would really be worth it to spend the extra money on this hotel, but now I know differently! The service and the facility were worth every penny. The staff was impressive and they never failed to take care of us. The facility was great and there were a lot of water options (I.E. pool's for families, adult pool, beach chairs w/service). The poolside food was even good! The rooms are a nice size with large bathrooms and soft beds (some didn't like that, but I didn't mind). I don't think you can actually get a room that doesn't have an ocean view…but maybe I'm wrong. There are also many great restaurants within a 5-10 minute of the hotel, and the concierge referred us to several. I will definitely be returning.

Best choice in the hotel zonePosted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: Location, decor, view, staff, spa/health club facilities, which were amazing, including the indoor pool with scenic views.
Cons: More vegetarian options on menu.
We chose this hotel based on information on Expedia and were not disappointed. Frankly, it was better than the Ritz Carlton, which is dated. And just the right size, not too crowded, not too commercial, and recently updated in decor. Good choice of restaurants within walking distance, including the Marriott ones next door. We would go back here on another visit.

Location: Only other hotels are close. There are no stores and only few restaurants near by. Bus transportation is easy.
Hotel was exceptional. If you can do it, ask to upgrade to Club 91.

Pros: The location was perfect...the staff was fabulous.

Cancun Vacation at the MarriottPosted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: The grounds and common areas were an awesome site to behold. The ocean views from near the pool area were world class.
Cons: The staff needs training in customer service. The rooms need updating; old torn mattress and shabby carpet. Price gouging: $14 for bag of chips???
Location: We loved going to the adventure parks nearby - Tulum Extreme Adventure Park.
Spent a week in Cancun to attend a wedding. Spent a couple days shopping at La Isla and Kukulcan shopping centers. Also went to Tulum Extreme and Adventure park; excellent group fun! Had a great guide named Eliu.
