Our 2nd time there and it was perfectPosted Dec 16, 2014
Love all you can do at the Sunrise. The pub at the Nizuc was very nicely done.

MehPosted Dec 15, 2014
Cons: Consistent service... Consistent policies
Pools were plentiful but very cold, beach was mediocre- full of seaweed, beds were very comfy, food was good, the staff although mostly pleasant were terribly inconsistent. They use better bathroom products when you first stay but change to lesser quality if there awhile. The fountains on the Sunrise side were broken and never even looked at or attempted to be fixed during my stay. Actually it looked like they have been broken for some time. The broken fountains were green with algae and had garbage in them. The fountains on the other side were beautiful and in great working order so it seemed very disappointing and it felt that we were valued less on the Sunrise side despite paying a significant amount per night plus tax because we thought we were staying at a higher end hotel. I will not be returning and will not be recommending this holiday resort to anyone

Very Big Resort Very Good Food/ServicePosted Dec 12, 2014
Pros: Pool, bars/drinks, food, catamarans, flow rider, golf, service
Cons: Regular shuttle golf carts to hop on.
Dec 3, 2014 Pools, bars, restaurants, snack bars were fabulous. The food and service very good. Wave Rider lots of fun, a big hit. Catamarans, 2 of them, were also in good condition and great fun. Bikes are available, but must be returned each day. Golf course, 27 holes, excellent condition, BUT difficult to get decent tee times and it was off season with the resort only 1/3 full. Resort Credit is NOT FREE. They charge 16% for every RC $ spent. The resort is large enough where you want to bring all your stuff to the pool, because walking back and forth to your room is a hike. They do have shuttle golf carts, but, these are hit or miss. No regular schedule. There are 3 adjacent sections of the resort, from North to South, Sunrise, Nezuc, and Grand Moon. They are all somewhat different. Sunrise is the biggest. Nezuc in the middle is 2nd biggest, and grand moon is the smallest but more plush. There is a regular bus that goes from lobby to lobby. They have very nice tennis and basketball courts. It is quite easy to get from the sunrise lobby to the golf course by golf cart which comes regularly abut every 20 minutes. The golf course is about a kilometer away thru a beautiful jungle path.

Nice resort with terrible beachPosted Dec 7, 2014
Excellent service. Good food. Beautiful pools. The worst beach in the area unfortunately. Only stay here if you don't like the beach or ocean. Will not likely return to this pricey resort.

Moon Palace not all inclusivePosted Dec 5, 2014
Arrived at 09:00 and got into a room at 16:50. Room was not cleaned everyday until 17:00 and then only partially stocked everyday. They had a convention so no tee times where available and only spa appointments on our fifth and final day available. Everything was a struggle to get accomplished and desk staff could care less, everything we tried took 10 times longer than it should to set up. Got the run around on the morning we checked out and left frustrated, this was our second and last trip to Moon Palace. The facility is beautiful and the food especially the buffets was great. It is a shame that the people at the desks and the housekeeping departments are so bad. Find a different place to spend 500 a day

Great facilities & An excellent level of servicePosted Dec 4, 2014
Pros: Service, staff and many options for actvities. Use of the resort credits was also a bonus... (but a 16% tax was added and needed to be paid in $$)
Cons: Cost of additional services (golf, spa and other activities were $$$)
Location: Location is quiet and secluded, but I would recommend the tour of Xoxomilko.... its a great way to spend an evening.
The resort and staff provide a great experience. Service is great and there are many options for activities and dining. The golf course was in great shape, but the price was $$$$. The only thing that needs improvement is the food (but it is Mexico...after all). All the buffets are similar. The ala-carte restaurants were only marginally better. Best experience was in the Japaneese/Tai, the Seafood and Mexican restaturants. The Brazilian Steakhouse & the Italian left alot of room for improvement. (no reservations required for these). We were unable to get reservations at the two remaining ala cartes during our stay.

Still good, but not as great as it once wasPosted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Variety of food/activities, dolphins on site, size/quality of the rooms
Cons: Food/Drink should be made with real ingredients, and staff should be friendlier (some are REALLY good, but most are not)
Location: Beach palace - AMAZING beach and sky bar Dolphin Experience - Go for the upgraded experience and ride 2 dolphins at once! Offroading!
We stayed at the Moon Palace about 4 years ago, and fell in love. We've been to various luxury, tropical hotels since then, and haven't been able to match that experience, so we decided to go back. Unfortunately, our latest trip ALSO didn't match that original experience. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: Ability to travel to other Palace Hotels in the area (Beach Palace has the most beautiful beach, and a really stunning skybar/pool.) The addition of the Flowrider. It's super fun and addicting! Ability to use resort credits for spa services (although limited, you can still get a full service for 2 within your credit limits) Cons The food and drink have significantly decreased in quality since our last trip. For example, pina coladas were once made with coco lopez and pineapple juice, but now use a pina colada mixer that doesn't taste very good. The food is plentiful, but of questionable quality (especially if you're accustomed to higher quality, farm-to-table type food). The staff cares a lot less. With a few exceptions (mostly bartenders) they could care less. 4 years ago you could use your credits for a lot of things, like room upgrades. Now, the options are so limited I doubt anyone uses all the points they are awarded. Huge disappointment. Takes a week to get an appointment at the spa or even the decent restaurants. Even then, your reservation will be at an absurd hour that is not convenient.

old building ,no ocean view available ,food was okPosted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: kids friendly ,free internet.
Cons: a lot.
Location: went to town and visited La Blonc and other resorts ,
I rather spend money for a 5 star and get what I paid for , but we paid for 5 star and got 3.5 star , old buildings , worn out ,no hot water one day , charge you a lot for taxes on spa or other services 20-25%.
