Great hotel. 5 minutes from airportPosted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: close to airport very clean staff is great quality food
Location: we were there only a short time, so didn't leave the facility. However, the resort is within 60 minutes of most major activities..
large resort, clean rooms, lovely facility, good food, nice beach. Hard to find much wrong with this resort. For those looking for an 'intimate' facility, this resort might feel a bit too large. Overall, a great experience -- family oriented..away from the spring break crowds. would definitely go back.

One of the worst hotel ever been.Posted Mar 14, 2014
Staffs' attitude ruined my family vacation. Do not want to even think about going back to this hotel again.

Moon Palace is a GREAT PlacePosted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: nearly everthing
Cons: beds were too soft
We just got back yesterday and I'm already trying to plan for the next trip back. The place is HUGE but we don't mind walking. The room was was nice and had an ocean view. We requested 2 beds but got one king. Hotel staff brought us a cot for my daughter to sleep on and she had no complaints. Hotel staff was attentive and very polite...maybe because we were consistently tipping but that's to be expected. I brought about 30 singles and maybe 6 fives....used all the singles and 2 of the fives so what ......$40 in tips for a 5 night trip. I dont' think that's excessive. At the end of the trip all the staff new my name and were calling my senior XXXX. There's plenty to do both day and night for families. Food was beyond my expectation; drinks were a little weak but just tip the waiter a buck or 2 and he'll bring you doubles of whatever you want. We even suffered through the time share presentation and got a nice discount on a tour which we didn't even take because we wanted to lounge around the huge/wonderfull pools. The presentation was a lot more "hard sell" at the Hard Rock which is a subpar hotel compared to the Moon Palace. The beach was a bit disappointing but the pools made up for it. When we did want to go to the beach we just hopped the bus and went to the beach palace which has a wonderfull beach front. Can't wait to go back to the moon palace.

Nice hotelPosted Mar 9, 2014
Moon palace overall was a great place to stay. We really enjoyed our stay. There were a few things that were nuisances but would not stop us from going again. First, the beach is not the beautiful clear turquoise water, but we knew that before we went. My kids still had a great time playing in the sand. Second, there is a lot of walking to get around between the 3 lobbies and sections. We stayed in grand moon and if we did it again my preference would be the nizuc section. Last, the walls are so thin, and with no carpet the sound in the rooms, thru the halls is crazy loud. We got woke up almost every night by people yelling in the halls, and even woke up one morning by room service being delivered next door. Those are our only complaints, aside from that the food was great, the pools were awesome and the service impeccable.

Enjoyed the Moon Palace and each separate resort within the resort. Our favorite ended up being Nuzic. The action and majority of the action was where we were at Sunrise. Our only complaint was our Expedia location at Sunrise. We asked to change rooms but they claimed they were fully booked and if there was any change we had to do it through Expedia. Our room was 1/2 mile from the main pool area and lobby in "the Sombrero" our room was fine we just had a view of the service road and chain link fence and the long walk. Totally recommend swimming with the dolphins on site and the turtle snorkeling, zip line and rappelling trip also the beach was stirred up with seaweed and garbage so much so we didn't swim in it. We did however go to Sun Palace for the day on the main hotel strip. The beach there was beautiful! It is a much smaller resort but for the beach it might be worth it.

Beautiful Hotel but MassivePosted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Hotel was very clean, staff very pleasant, food excellent and room comfortable.
Cons: Management should be more accommodating especially when dealing with seniors with honest requests. Always trying to extract more money from you.
Location: Beach not the best for the location. Able to use their other facilities (by bus) at the Beach Palace where the beach is beautiful.
Located in furthest room away from family. Too far for 77 yrs old to walk. Requested closer room to no avail. Experienced a flooded room on third day, and they reluctantly moved us closer to a similar room. Much better. Rest of trip was enjoyable and service was exceptional. We would recommend this hotel if you are a young family that enjoys lots of company and exercise. Beach was full of seaweed and not swimmable. Forget the promotional credit (1,500.00)...nothing is free.

Superb hotelPosted Feb 24, 2014
Wonderful resort! Only negative point is the beach which was full of seaweed. Otherwise the food, the spa, the service were excellent and it will be hard to find another resort as great!

Nice hotel for the easy to please crowdPosted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: The service at the pool and at the restaurants was warm and attentive. Rooms were clean, pool area was incredibly large.
Cons: This is more like 3 resorts in one, so there could be more information on activities at all the resorts. There should be more restaurant options
This mega-resort is all about "bigger is better" but fails to deliver on those wanting a unique travel experience or needing a relaxing vacation. The service from the wait staff is top notch, no complaints here. Typical wonderful Mexican hospitality. For those wanting a quiet place to read or nap, it is nearly an impossible task. Too much concrete. Too much loud music. Just too much. Most of the restaurants are huge, almost industrial-looking. Surprisingly, not enough variety and at prime time, expect over an hour wait. Too many people wanting to eat at the same time. Golfed twice and barely made the shuttles, too many people needing transportation at the same time. Just too many people. Stay as far away from the timeshare sellers as you possible can! They promised me room credits and I had to fight for this benefit upon checking out. Later I found out they promised me a package vastly less desirable than another guests at the hotel. We were traveling with another family and asked for our rooms to be in the same general vicinity 6 months in advance. We did not ask for adjoining rooms, rooms on the same floor nor rooms in the same building, just in the same general area. Upon arrival, the other family was put in a room nearly a 15 minute walk away. For our teenage daughters, we felt uncomfortable allowing them to hang out together and then walk back alone at night. Sadly, the timeshare folks promised if we plunked down a deposit, our room request would be accommodated.
