Nice hotelPosted Mar 9, 2014
Moon palace overall was a great place to stay. We really enjoyed our stay. There were a few things that were nuisances but would not stop us from going again. First, the beach is not the beautiful clear turquoise water, but we knew that before we went. My kids still had a great time playing in the sand. Second, there is a lot of walking to get around between the 3 lobbies and sections. We stayed in grand moon and if we did it again my preference would be the nizuc section. Last, the walls are so thin, and with no carpet the sound in the rooms, thru the halls is crazy loud. We got woke up almost every night by people yelling in the halls, and even woke up one morning by room service being delivered next door. Those are our only complaints, aside from that the food was great, the pools were awesome and the service impeccable.

Enjoyed the Moon Palace and each separate resort within the resort. Our favorite ended up being Nuzic. The action and majority of the action was where we were at Sunrise. Our only complaint was our Expedia location at Sunrise. We asked to change rooms but they claimed they were fully booked and if there was any change we had to do it through Expedia. Our room was 1/2 mile from the main pool area and lobby in "the Sombrero" our room was fine we just had a view of the service road and chain link fence and the long walk. Totally recommend swimming with the dolphins on site and the turtle snorkeling, zip line and rappelling trip also the beach was stirred up with seaweed and garbage so much so we didn't swim in it. We did however go to Sun Palace for the day on the main hotel strip. The beach there was beautiful! It is a much smaller resort but for the beach it might be worth it.

Very GoodPosted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Close to the airport. Very upscale
Cons: Food at restaurants not always consistant in the evening.
Location: Stayed on resort, did not venture off
Staff was very pleasant, water temperature in pool was good. Plenty of chairs to lounge at pool.

Beautiful Hotel but MassivePosted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Hotel was very clean, staff very pleasant, food excellent and room comfortable.
Cons: Management should be more accommodating especially when dealing with seniors with honest requests. Always trying to extract more money from you.
Location: Beach not the best for the location. Able to use their other facilities (by bus) at the Beach Palace where the beach is beautiful.
Located in furthest room away from family. Too far for 77 yrs old to walk. Requested closer room to no avail. Experienced a flooded room on third day, and they reluctantly moved us closer to a similar room. Much better. Rest of trip was enjoyable and service was exceptional. We would recommend this hotel if you are a young family that enjoys lots of company and exercise. Beach was full of seaweed and not swimmable. Forget the promotional credit (1,500.00)...nothing is free.

Superb hotelPosted Feb 24, 2014
Wonderful resort! Only negative point is the beach which was full of seaweed. Otherwise the food, the spa, the service were excellent and it will be hard to find another resort as great!

Nice hotel for the easy to please crowdPosted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: The service at the pool and at the restaurants was warm and attentive. Rooms were clean, pool area was incredibly large.
Cons: This is more like 3 resorts in one, so there could be more information on activities at all the resorts. There should be more restaurant options
This mega-resort is all about "bigger is better" but fails to deliver on those wanting a unique travel experience or needing a relaxing vacation. The service from the wait staff is top notch, no complaints here. Typical wonderful Mexican hospitality. For those wanting a quiet place to read or nap, it is nearly an impossible task. Too much concrete. Too much loud music. Just too much. Most of the restaurants are huge, almost industrial-looking. Surprisingly, not enough variety and at prime time, expect over an hour wait. Too many people wanting to eat at the same time. Golfed twice and barely made the shuttles, too many people needing transportation at the same time. Just too many people. Stay as far away from the timeshare sellers as you possible can! They promised me room credits and I had to fight for this benefit upon checking out. Later I found out they promised me a package vastly less desirable than another guests at the hotel. We were traveling with another family and asked for our rooms to be in the same general vicinity 6 months in advance. We did not ask for adjoining rooms, rooms on the same floor nor rooms in the same building, just in the same general area. Upon arrival, the other family was put in a room nearly a 15 minute walk away. For our teenage daughters, we felt uncomfortable allowing them to hang out together and then walk back alone at night. Sadly, the timeshare folks promised if we plunked down a deposit, our room request would be accommodated.

Great All-Inclusive on BeachPosted Feb 22, 2014
Pros: Altho it's large, there are enough pools, restaurants, and other activities so we did not feel so very crowded.
Cons: Having a few more shuttles to either Playa del Carmen would be nice. If they lobby had a daily posting of activities in each area, that would help.
Location: Near Cancun airport, not in downtown Cancun. Nothing really "nearby" except activities at the hotel. For more activities, you must take shuttle.
Moon Palace is essentially 3 hotels in one. There is the Sunrise area (the most "hopping" place, filled with conventioners and a wilder, younger crowd), the Nizuc area (some activity, not as many activities as the Sunrise, but still fun) and the Grand Palace (very quiet). They are easily walk-able between them, as well as having regular bus and golf cart shuttle services, so it's really not a big issue where your actual room is. While it is not in Downtown Cancun, and it is not walkable to downtown shopping, or other downtown Cancun destinations, there is enough to do at the hotel to suffice. There are numerous pools, restaurants, tennis, golf, sailing, dolphins, etc on the property. The one issue with this area is that the beaches are not as nice as downtown Cancun......there is lots of seaweed, and the water just doesn't seem as blue as the Cancun beach itself.

Very worthy of the 5 stars.Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Appreciated the large showers - very roomy. The dining in all the restaurants, including the neighbouring/sister hotels was varied and high quality.
Cons: No pressurised sales pitch! We personally would have appreciated a day time shuttle bus from the hotel into downtown Cancun on a fairly regular basis.
Location: The beach was lovely with lots of activities. The golf course was first rate. A shuttle bus tto their sister hotel with all their amenities.
Overall a very pleasing stay, would certainly return. Private transfers made for hassle free transition from the airport after a long flight. Beautifully maintained local gardens/area in general. Overall layout of the hotel was very spacious. The many restaurants offered a vast array of high quality food in this and the sister hotel. Customer service was excellent and friendly - although we didn't need to test this as everything went very smoothly and we were very happy. We enjoyed the excursion offers too. One thing we were not impressed by was the pressure placed on us by our welcome host to attend the "chat" about the hotel which was presented as a history/local area information presentation but was in fact a soft and hard sell timeshare sales pitch that frankly wasted two hours of our time. We were too polite to say no when we were unaware as to what it was about.

Perfect Stay :)Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: the food was amazing, the staff was so friendly and accommodating, so many fun excursions available, all-inclusive food and drinks, amazing shows!
Cons: Nothing could have been improved, this was the best vacation I have ever had, all thanks to Expedia and The Moon Palace :)
Location: We swam with the dolphins right at the resort, we visited downtown Cancun for a few hours one day, we went to Tulum and Xel-Ha:HIGHLY recommend Xel-Ha
My boyfriend and I had originally booked our Cancun vacation at the Golden Parnassus all-inclusive, adults only resort, but when we checked in after traveling all day, the manager told us they didn't have any rooms available and they wouldn't guarantee an available room for us all week. This could have been the best thing to ever happen to us! Expedia helped us change our stay to the Moon Palace Golf Resort and Spa, while the Golden Parnassus payed the difference. The Moon Palace was everything I could have dreamed of, and more! The lobby alone was outstandingly beautiful and everyone, (i mean EVERYONE) that works there is so nice and ready to help you with anything you may need. We upgraded our stay to Concierge level, and my jaw dropped when we were brought to our room. The view was beautiful (ocean view, pool view) and there were hammocks on every balcony. We had a fully stocked mini-fridge with bottled water, 3 different types of beer, and a variety of mixers/chasers. There were also 3 full sized bottles of liquor- vodka, scotch and rum! Did I mention there was a bottle of wine and a jacuzzi in the room as well? We were set! There are 3 villas at the Moon Palace and we stayed at the best one, in my opinion. It was called the Sunrise Villa. This was the best villa out of them all, in my opinion, because there were about 5 restaurants inside and outside the villa, a HUGE pool with a swim up pool bar! There were bicycles & dolphins on site!
