Great all inclusive hotel - family funPosted Apr 17, 2015
Had a fantastic time at the Omni Cancun. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms smelled a bit musty but not sure why. No carpeting so noise from hallways carried but there weren't any loud groups or parties to cause any disruptions at night. My three kids (ages 11, 9, & 8) loved the beach and the pools. Red flags all week (April 2015) at the beach but the water isn't very deep so it's not too hard to fight the waves if you're comfortable in the water. We had a blast diving into the waves. Gorgeous white sand beach, no shells or rocks and not at all hot on your feet. Spent hours in the pools. Ate at La Paloma every night for the dinner buffet and the food was good. We loved having breakfast on the beach at sunrise at piña coladas every day and lunch at the taco bar. Really loved the self serve margarita machines! Lots of stairs to negotiate every day which could be a bit challenging for those who are older or handicapped. Handicap accessible ramps at the pool area are steeper than those allowed in the US. We were very happy with our lagoon view - lovely sunsets and we had a partial ocean view from our balcony as well. Bus stops right in front of omni and costs $1 US to ride the bus. We took it up to playa tortugas in the hotel zone to take the ultramarine ferry to Isla mujeres for the day ($19 US roundtrip). We also had a great time swimming with the dolphins at Dolphinaris in cancun. Highly recommend the Omni Cancun!!! Would definitely stay there again.

Great StaffPosted Apr 16, 2015
Excellent Staff. Always willing to assist. Rooms are older but nice. Time Share staff very persistent, but only for a day. Arrived the last 2 days of spring break, so quieted down considerably. Barter on excursions. You can save 40-60% off regular price. Xcaret is a great place. Island of MuJeres is great. Get the golf cart ride. Block 28 is also a fun barter shopping area. The bus will get you anywhere for $1. Cabs are expensive. Stayed 6 nights. Overall great time at the Omni. Rate the stay 8/10. Staff 9/10, food 6/10. We are a couple in our 50's from Wisconsin. Would go again.

NOT A 4 STAR HOTELPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: The mexican restaurant.
Cons: Need remodelation
I was very dispappointed with this hotel, never a four star hotel. The Hotel is very Old, need remodelation in the rooms specially the bathroom. I went with my 3 year old and 1 year old kids and it is not a friendly hotel for them, not stroller Access, no pools for childen. Food and drinks were Ok.

Mi habitación tenía una gotera q nunca se solucionPosted Apr 12, 2015
El hotel es tranquilo, la comida buena, tipica de un todo incluido y la atención buena a secas. En resumen, un hotel promedio q ya tiende a verse viejo.

Hotel was great, However shower needs some work.Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Helpful staff, Clean beach, Pool, food was god
Cons: The showers
Location: Lots to do nearby.
The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only negative I can say is that the shower head was rusty and only had 2 settings. Low pressure and Firehouse pressure. Which when you have a sunburn helps alot.

Friendly and pleasant place to stayPosted Apr 10, 2015
We stayed for 5 nights in the spring of 2015. We had a great experience. fabulous views of sunrise and sunset from our ocean view room on the eighth floor. Our room was specious and very comfortable. Hotel has a beautiful beach with plenty of lounge chairs and prompt bar staff serving drinks all day long on the beach. Dining room staff is down to earth. Extremely friendly. The food at the main dinning room is plentiful and with great variety. You don't have to try everything in one day. Try something new everyday. We loved breakfast options. For dinner we took advantage of De Vinci Italian fine dinning restaurant onsite. 5-star dining experience. food at De Vinci is absolutely delicious. I could eat there everyday and not get bored. Staff at front desk very helpfu and professional but less friendly than the rest of the staf. In summary this is a wonderful place to stay. Many families are upper middle class. No Wow factor

Just an ok experiencePosted Apr 7, 2015
Compared to last years stay at RIU Palace, the Omni is just ok. The food was ok, and most of the staff was kind of rude. Too bad because the location, the beach, and the pools have so much potential. Most of the staff wasn't very friendly, just doing their job.
