Place is beautiful, staff is excellent!

We loved it, food was great, drinks were top shelf for real in the Royal service. Beach is steps away from the room with waves which I thought was a big plus. Service was unbelievable. Cesar was the man to ask for anything you wanted. Rooms were ok, good comfy bed and beautiful views. I would go back and I'm pretty hard to please lol.

If you want to relax get Royal Service !

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: The experience is extraordinary
Cons: Nada
This is the 2nd stay at Paradisus Cancun, both have been in Royal Service and both have been amazing . Galdino was our butler , but turned out to be a friend!! He did an excellent job checking in on us, but not so much we felt overwhelmed. He took the time to get to know us and even surprised us with a bottle of champagne, a handwritten note and a trail of rose pedals leading to a warm drawn bath . I honestly can't say enough about him, truly a great representation of the Paradisus Brand. We choose Royal Service to get a break from reality, the pool is quiet, you are catered to in your Bali Bed and everyone aims to give you a great experience . If you came to party, Royal Service is not the best spot for you.. But you can easily walk to the other pools where there is a little more action. The facility is aging on the outside , but all of the resorts in Cancun are. The inside is immaculate and everyone works incredibly hard to keep it that way. Also, it's worth mentioning that tipping is advised if you feel someone has earned it, we tend to overdue it, but they all work so very hard. Don't be cheap, don't be a jerk, treat people with the same respect they treat you with and you'll have a great trip. The ocean view in 5614 was amazing !! We will be back next year and request Galdino to be our butler again. This is our 3rd total stay with Paradisus ( the 1st was in Punta Cana) and they have won us over and forever have our loyalty!!

Probably 1 of the best hotels in the Hoteliera

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: The breakfast and the chairs by the sea
Cons: Restaurants reservations
Location: Good location because it is quite and also easy with the bus to go to the La Isla shopping center
It is a not a luxurious 5 star hotel bu a very decent and good quality-for-money hotel at the Hoteliera area. The rooms vary spacious, the breakfast really rich, the pools nice. A small issue was that they were not organised well in making reservations (for those restaurants that required 1), for example you definitely could not do that for the same day and I wonder why (if there where empty tables). Moreover you could only do reservation over the phone and only 9:00-17:00 so if you are out all day on excursions from 8 in the morning until 6-7 in the evening, then again you can not make a reservation. A small accident that we had with the bathroom sink was handled very rapidly and professionally by the hotel. With regards to the other hotel that we saw inside, I believe we made the best choice for the amount of money we wanted to spent, higher standards than most hotels (less spring brakers etc)

Nice hotel, great staff.

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Waitress staff, they were great all the time. Beautiful beach and hotel.
Cons: At least give away lists at check in with dates and times of "private parties" so we know what to expect.
Location: Centric location, all kinds of stores, restaurants and couple of malls close by.
Staff is the best part of the hotel, pretty good hotel facilities condition and food. The problem we had, a family party of six with a 7 year old boy was that is the first time the hotel closes a whole swimming pool, bar and beach area for a "private party" it sucks!!! It was the pool that we liked the most because me, my daughter and mom are short, less than 5' 06" and this pool (the one they closed for the whole day) was perfect for us, the other options were a kid's pool and deeper pool. So they suddenly start asking people to leave that whole area because of the "private party" without a previous notice, and it was really loud music and only adults allowed to be in that area. We didn't like that at all, we expect to enjoy all the facilities any time to have a good time and to be relax not with loud music!!!. We will never come back to this hotel.

Nice resort and location Terrible customer service

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: Location was decent, lobby and pool area beautiful.
Cons: Customer service and quality of food served.
Location: Easy to get a taxi or take bus downtown.
This resort is far from being a five star resort, which they claim. The hotel, beach, pool area, spa etc. are beautiful but the service is horrible. You had to wake up every morning by 7am to go put towels on pool or beach chairs otherwise you had no where to sit. After two days of this I went to the front desk manager and he told me it was because the hotel was full. A hotel should have enough chairs to accommodate their guests at full capacity. We noticed that both the Marriott Casa Magna and the JW Marriott next to our resort had plenty of chairs for their guests. With the exception of the breakfast buffet, the food was not very good. You also had to make a reservation one day in advance and again get up at 7am to do it before they were all full. By the way, the three nicest restaurants there are not included in the all inclusive package, would have been nice to know in advance. Each of the other restaurants you could go to had about six entrees to choose from on their menus. By the end of the week we ended up leaving the hotel to go out for dinner so we could have a good meal, even though we had paid for the all-inclusive. There were many examples of bad service but the worst was when I was at the pool bar and watched the bartender taking plastic cups that people had drank out of and throw the ice in the sink and turn around and make someone else a drink using the same cup! When I called him out on it he acted like he didn't realize he had done that, disgusting

Pros: Staff was great.
Cons: Need more activities, towels and chairs. Prices for sunscreen etc are way too expensive at hotel. You have to walk across the street to pay less.
Location: The selling continues even at the resort. Lots of excursion options.
Never received towel card at check in. Towels weren't readily available and hard to get lounge chairs at the pool or beach. Activities were very minimal and kids were bored. Staff was great. Restaurant reservations were hard to book and weren't many non reservation options. Bottom line hotel is very inefficient for it's size. If booking best in adults only Royal area.

Nice hotel, but noisy

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Hotel was beautiful, but very noisy. If you are located in main pod, especially under the red lounge your room will vibrate until 2 am.... Most of the hotel staff was very friendly, except for registration. I had multiple issues all went unresolved. I stayed at the Paradisus in Punta Cana last year. Much better experience!!

Inadequate accomodations & insuffciant ammenities

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: The staff was as helpful as possible. There was nothing they could do and they were not equipped to handle the amount of guests booked for the holiday
Cons: To have the basic ammenities available
I arrived along with my family and 10 other firends on 4/1/15. Upon arrival the rooms were not ready so there was a two hour wait. I was charged $300 extra for my daughter because the hotel said that their policy was 16 yo was considered an adult. I booked and paid via Expedia and the age went up to 17 with no for warning of this policy. Expedia and the hotel are not on the same page as far as age cutoff age for children. There were a shortage of lounge chairs we did not have chairs on our balcony and were told they were removed from every balcony because of "high season" and that they were ordered but didnt arrive in time. I asked three days in a row for chairs and received them on the fourth day. Althought he chairs were removed from "every" balcony there were still and insufficiant amount at the pool and the beach. This caused a problem daily as people would "save" chairs for themselves and family and leave only to come back 3-4 hours later. The hotel staff allowed this and it was a BIG problem. I would get up daily at 7 am and there were no chairs available. I went to relax but it became a job to try to get a chair to sit on...UNNACEPTABLE...people were sitting on the ground and on the grass on towels. I was told by the concierge desk if I wanted to pay an extra $50 a day i could reserve a cabana....again unnaceptable....I was really disapointed
