Nice Place to Stay

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: That it was all inclusive.
Cons: The food.
Location: You can snorkel and swim with the whale sharks. You can rent a golf cart for a day to go around the island.
Good place, I would bring my family. The staff was very nice, but the food left something wanting. The tub outside our balcony was nice, but the view could have been better (one side was a partial view of the beach and the other side was of the cemetery).

Nice place - but could use a few tweaks.

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: - Sabor - Cleanliness of the rooms
Location: - The beach! - Lots of local restaurants/shops - Nearby excursions operated by third parties. Most of them are relatively safe.
Overall Rating: B My fiance and I booked this trip as our annual vacation, and overall I'll say that I was pleased. There are a few minor complaints that have Privilege Aluxes fall short of earning an A from me. Pros: - Great location, it's just a short walk away from the ferry port. The beach, where the restaurant Cafe Del Mar is located, is gorgeous. - Overall, food is delicious. The area of weakness is the restaurant Sabor; the food is mediocre, especially the breakfast buffet. I recommend that they change the daily food options and get rid of the fruit flies that plague some of the tables. - Staff is pleasant and friendly. The bartenders were a joy and a few of the waiters had great personalities. Some of these guys work so hard to please you. - It's a decent bargain considering the overall experience. Cons: - The room cleanliness was OKAY. The floors weren't as spotless as I would have liked them, and I found debris in my sheets a few times. - The standard room is quite basic, the TV is small but who goes to an exotic place to spend their vacation watching TV? - The liquor under most circumstances are generic when purchasing the all-inclusive package. Don't think that you're getting premium liquor brands. - Room service menu could have a few more items, it's a very limited selection.

A Nice Honeymoon Stay - But Watch Out For The Food

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location. It is on a well-maintained beach. The staff is friendly, and if we had any issues, they fixed it immediately.
Cons: The food. As mentioned, it was hit and miss (and more miss than hit, unfortunately). I wish there were a greater selection and more authentic food.
Location: Great location. You can rent a golf car to explore the island. Swim with the Dolphins & visit Garrafón Park - expensive, but you won't regret it!
We stayed in this hotel in June 2014 as part of our honeymoon. The staff was very friendly, and the room was everything advertised. The hotel has three pools which are open from 8am to 8pm. There are pool beds and many chairs available next to the pools - we never had to worry about getting exactly what we wanted. The pool bar was nice and offered many drinks and food. Across a small alley was one of the nicest beaches that I have seen, and one of the nicest beaches on the island. The sand is kept quite clean, and there are over 40 umbrellas with 2 beach chairs each, along with three beach beds. Get up early if you want an umbrella closest to the beach, but there were always at least 5-8 or more available. While at the beach, you can get drinks and even lunch or dinner without ever leaving your seat. There are three restaurants on the property - Satay, a reservation-only Thai Restaurant; Sabor, a buffet-style restaurant with different themes each night; and Cafe del Mar, the primary restaurant on the beach. The food at all of the restaurants was fresh, but very hit and miss. The restaurants try to do some American-style dishes, but with a Mexican flair, and unfortunately, are not very successful. In fact, they tried so hard to be American that we didn't even eat Mexican on our entire trip! That is the only reason that I give the hotel a 4 instead of a 5 on overall rating.

Great Place to Get-Away (June, 2014)

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The hotel was clean and the staff was very accommodating. They made every effort to fulfill every request. The location was perfect as well.
Cons: Only improvement: it seemed difficult to get hot foods hot, especially on the buffet. Overall average food, but with great effort and presentation.
Location: Great location for: a walk through the local shops, great swimming /snorkeling around the corner, and Dolphin Discovery a short cab ride away.
The Privilege is a great hotel, especially in the off-season with fewer people. My wife & I went to get away from the busi-ness that is in Cancun. Plus, we wanted to be closer to snorkeling and the Dolphin Discovery on the island. The boat shuttles are perfectly timed, so getting back and forth is not an issue. Participate as you wish, but at night this is an amazing place. Just as in the pictures, there are plenty of chairs and oceanside canopy type beds for sunning and resting. This time of year made the resort appear more quaint and certainly more exclusive to its' occupants.

Wonderful Vacation Experience

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Great restaurants on the Beach and Satay for a quiet elegant sit down dinner. beach restaurant and buffet had very good selection to choose from.
Cons: Would have liked some more beer selection, Budweiser and colors would have been nice.
Location: Went to Punta Sur, it was beautiful. Cliffs and ocean on that side of the island were beautiful. Beaches on Cancun side were beautiful!
Everyone that worked in the hotel from the minute we got there were very friendly and accommodating. From the front desk, bartenders, restaurant and beach waitstaff. They could not do enough for you. One of the most relaxing vacations i have had in years. We had the all inclusive superior suite. Balcony had a hot tub,a view of the sea and the town. Sunrise every morning. Crystal clear Caribbean Sea. What was not to like?
