“Great Vacation! Loved the beach, the pools, the food and drinks!”

My husband and I went on a week long trip to the Riu Cancun. I didn't know anything about the hotel before booking it on Expedia. We loved our hotel and would stay there again! First the pros: We loved the food. The main buffet (Don Juan) is excellent. Lots of choices. There are 3 restaurants that you have to make reservations for and you must make the reservations 2 days in advance in the lobby between 7 and 3. We ate at the Japanese Restaurant (would not recommend it) and the Brazilian Restaurant (great food!). We did not eat at the Steak House. There is another buffet that is open for lunch that is near the pool area (it actually is the 'Steak House' for dinner). In the rooms there is a fridge with bottled water, Pepsi products, and Dos XX (the only beer they have at the hotel). There are also 4 full-size bottles of Jose, vodka, rum in the room. They refill the fridge every 2 days and it is all part of the all inclusive. The drinks were great. They would make anything you wanted. The beach area is very nice. Always plenty of chairs. I would advise putting your towel on a chair when you head to breakfast if you want to sit by the pool area so that you can reserve a spot. The pool chairs fill up fast. The hotel has different shows each night. The Michael Jackson show was entertaining. The cons: I would not stay on the 13th floor - you do not have as good of a view from the balconey as the other floors. The sun is blocked by the hotel around 4. Great vacation!

“Can't wait to go back”

I always go to Cancun but never stayed on a all inclusive hotel before because I stay in my time share. This all inclusive is so nice. Tha food on Riu cancun is delicious and plentiful. Can't complain on the unlimited drinks from the bars to your room to the restaurants! Sit down dinner was also excellent although we only tried the Brazilian restaurant. Everything is a 5 out of 5. My only recommentdation is the airconditiong system is not that cold in the room. The beach was also awesome and the waves are not big, no small rocks on the sand. can't wait to go back in fact we are checking the rates already for August hopefully.

“Can't Wait to Return”

The hotel was great. I will be return there next year. The staff was friendly and always helpful. The beds were hard, but it didn't matter, I slept great. The bartenders were wonderful, especially the ones in the theatre. Pools were clean and nice. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Riu Cancun was a fantastic hotel! The food, cleanliness, service, employees, etc. were are very nice! My wife & I took our 17yr old son & 19yr. old nephew. Needless to say, they loved it as well! Will definateley go back!

“Riu Cancun, highly recommend”

My wife and I just returned from a week long vacation at the Riu Cancun. We had a great time there and will return someday. It was our first time trying an all-inclusive package. We had heard if we werent drinkers then it wouldnt be worth it. We arent drinkers but it was definitely worth it too us. Not having to dig into our wallets each time we wanted to grab something to eat or drink was great. The hotel room was very nice although the interior seemed sort of dated. The bathroom was very nicely tiled and very clean. The view from our room was amazing. We were in a suite in the main tower and the view out of each window was of a turquoise ocean. The buffets always had something new to try. We had read complaints about how the same food could get old. Well, there are easily 50+ items available in the main buffet. They have food themes each day so the menu does change. If you can restrain from trying everything in the buffet, you can definitely enjoy something new every day. The activities crew, in our opinion, makes this hotel special. These guys and gals work extraordinarily hard at keeping everyone entertained. They genuinely have fun with each other while making everyone laugh out loud. There are daily activities by the pool and nightly theme shows. My wife and I have stayed at various hotels that offer daily entertainment but this crew has set the bar even higher.

“Will go Back”

We went to the RIU Cancun in November. The hotel was beautiful! The staff was really helpful and accommodating. Everyone was really nice to us and always went above and beyond. The event staff was also amazing and always made sure we had a good time. The room wasn't as bad as others made it seem. The AC worked fine and the room was spacious. The beds were not THAT uncomfortable. The elevators are really slow and hot. The beach was really small and you have to get there early to get a good seat in the sun! The food was OK-- definitely not the best but was good. You can always find something at the buffet. The Japanese place was the BEST!! Definitely go there. This hotel was really close to the popular nightlife- it was a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel also provides a bus to take you to the club of the night and gets you special wristbands--take advantage of it! Also, the hotel gives you can actual room key& not a card to swipe. you only get one per room so be careful where you put it (your room number is marked on it). All in all we would love to go back and will stay at RIU at other locations as well!

Most relaxing time spent on vacation in many years loved the blue ocean and the white sand all employee's were very helpful and very nice

“Planning a wedding there next summer”

1st trip to Cancun and this hotel is Fabulous! The atmosphere is laid back, wait staff is awesome. Cleanliness of the hotel gets a thumbs up. Will be returning again soon.
