Impeccable ServicePosted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: All of the hotel staff was friendly, eager to please, hard working and cheerful.
Cons: The wine options were not good at all and some of the better hard liquor selections were not top of the line.
Location: Close to many restaurant options, but not needed as this is an all inclusive resort. Fairly close to the airport.
Beautiful infinity pools overlooking a white sand beach. The service was second to none. The only improvement would be wine/alcohol selection.

Great Experience and hotel.Posted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: The hotel itself is beautiful and has the staff to support it. I'm not sure how many hours these people work, but it seems they are always available.
Cons: Some of the seasoning could be improved. That's difficult when cooking for a variety of tastes, but we felt the food was a little bland.
Location: This hotel is located right in the middle of the hotel zone. there are so many things nearby that you can walk to most of the main attractions.
We had an excellent experience at RIU Palace Las Americas. The hotel and staff were very nice. Everyone we interacted with was helpful and always ready to provide whatever we wanted. We ate at each of the reservation restaurants and our only real complaints would be the Lobster was a little overcooked. Our favorites were the Japanese and French restaurants. Although we had two very good dinners at the Italian one.

Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff, relaxing vacation!Posted Mar 5, 2014
I had the best experience at this hotel. Everyone was so friendly and happy to be there, from the staff to the other travelers! It's definitely worth taking the time to make reservations at the specialty restaurants for dinner though because they had the best food. Our favorite was Krystal the fusion restaurant with it's classy atmosphere. We had no problems, full drinks, and great service. Already planning our trip back next year!

Would Not Recommend This HotelPosted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: I expect more from a Riu Palace so there really wasn't anything that I could say that exceeded or met my expectations.
Cons: Cleanliness, new furniture, the smell and moldy fell to everything. Some customer relations training for the front desk staff.
When you first walk into the lobby you will see the beautiful view of the ocean, however within 3 seconds you will then get a whiff of the lobby and its moldy and musty smell. That was only the beginning. We had an ocean view room that smelled worse than the lobby. The whole room had a damp and moldy feel to it. To the extent that our clean clothes felt wet when putting them on. That is not a nice feeling. The mattress was uncomfortable and also had a wet feel to it. The furnishings in the room and throughout the hotel were outdated and in need of upgrades. We just could not get over the smell and that gross damp feel in our room. It had a significant impact on our trip. Pros: The wait staff were very friendly. The food was sufficient for an all inclusive, we ate at the restaurants and the buffet. The Japanese restaurant was the best, Krystal was the worst. The grounds were fine, nothing spectacular just average. Cons: Obviously the moldy smell and damp rooms and furniture. Hotel Front Desk staff are rude and clueless.

Nice hotel, beautiful beachPosted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: It was very clean, regal looking, the staff was really nice and i felt very safe at the resort. Also, i was happy with the good and drinks.
Location: Location is only 20 minutes from the airport and near Marina area. It is within a 5 minute car ride to where you get on the ferry.
Stayed here with my family for 5 nights. The hotel was very clean and beautiful when you walk into the lobby. Our room was comfortable and we had a nice balcony with a partial ocean view. The beach is on the smaller side but it is gorgeous and perfect for swimming (no rocks or seaweed). The water is crystal clear and there were plenty of lounge chairs on the beach. The food and drinks were good and i would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful views from everywhere!Posted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Everything was wonderful. It was great being able to swim at the beach or at a pool. The staff was wonderful.
Location: Going to the Mayan archaeological sites was fantastic and very easy to arrange.
A wonderful experience. The specialized restaurants are not worth it. Food at the buffet is better. To get a reservation you must be on line personally at 8 am. Even then they are usually already booked.
