Good overall but......

Pros: Clean and friendly
Cons: not much other than keeping up on maintenance with the door locks (change batteries more often?)
Location: the beach was AWESOME, clean sand/water, lots of snorkel/scuba options near by.
The hotel and grounds were beautiful, hotel staff was friendly and eager to please. but we did have an issue with the door lock on our room, the card worked most of the time for the first 3 days but the last 2 days we got locked out twice. one time it was at 11:00 PM and we were locked out for 40+ mins while the maintenance man tried to get us in, told me to have the front desk give me new cards because he thought that was the problem. the next day we had the same issue, got 2 more cards and still didn't work, 20 min. later he got us in, took apart the lock on the inside and "rolled" the batteries and said it was fixed. the next morning ( the last day ) the lock didn't work AGAIN (ya think the batteries were dead?? lol) so we were not going to mess around anymore and just packed up and took our belongings to the lobby, told the front desk about the lock AGAIN and went to B-fast and then out to get last min. souvenirs. other than that the Hotel was very nice and we will stay at the RIU chain again.

Pros: The view was beautiful and staff was friendly.
Cons: The buffet food could be improved. Staff could provide more detail aat check in, such as needing to make reservations at restaurants 2 days in advanc
Location: Tours, such as The Xplore and Cozumel were amazing. There's also a great restaurant called Mextreme within walking distance. Parasailing & Jetskiing
Overall the hotel was pretty nice. There were a few issues initially,but they were resolved by staff. The first, was leaks in the hallway outside and inside our room. The TV in our room was moved away from the wall with towels on the floor. After the rain had stopped, we noticed staff had drywall and leaks fixed. The restaurant food was delicious, but the buffets could use a little improvement.

Pros: Beautiful grand hotel. The room was perfect. I recommend upgrading to the ocean view. Rooms were very quiet and the air conditioning was perfect.
Cons: Reservations for the restaurants should be done all at once. Not one per day.
Location: Perfect walking distance to local shops. If you wanted to go further you could always get on the city bus for a dollar.
Beautiful resort and wonderful staff. We were treated so nicely. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We got there early and check in wasn't until three. The lady at the front desk told us to check back around 230 to see if the room was ready. We did but it still wasn't ready but we were able to store our bags and walk around and get lunch. We were extremely excited about our room. We had a jr suite with an ocean view. It was perfect. Our cleaning lady was so sweet and she always did the room up nice. The food was wonderful. We were a little disappointed that we weren't able to get reservations at the restaurants for the first two nights but we did for the third and fourth night. You could only do one reservation a day which was a little odd. They had had a huge storm before we got there so the beach was covered in seaweed. We weren't able to get in the water until the third day but by then the water had cleared up and the staff were working hard to clean up the beach. We were able to get the kayaks and go out into the water. Shops were an easy walk from the resort and if you wanted to go anywhere it was only a dollar to ride the city bus. The entertainment staff were fun and friendly. There were a few special needs adults on the resort and the staff treated them like everyone else. My husband and I enjoyed our vacation tremendously and will be returning to the Riu resorts in the future.

Pros: italian restaurant great lamb chops
Cons: bathrooms, pools, birds at outside restaurant need to go they ate of the plates with us
Location: great location
hotel is in need of updating, shower ceiling had mold on it, bathroom at times smelled like sewage. we got rained out two days and tons of seaweed washed ashore ,we could not go to the beach at the hotel because they had two men with a rake and plastic bags to clean it up, it will probably be that way for the summer they should of brought backhoe in to clean up in three hrs. payed a lot of money to swim in pool could of done that in pittsburgh. the drinks at the outside bars where like water i asked the bartender if he could make my drinks thick he purposely turned the mixer up on high speed when he gave me the drinks i told him i didn't want them, while walking away he said you americans are all the same. we americans spend a lot of money in mexico. and also the pools were filled with mold, "get a scrub brush"

Pros: Palace like scenary, service, and cleanliness
Cons: Air conditioning in rooms could be a little better
Location: Xcaret, isla mujeres, playa del carmen, chichen itza, downtown cancun, the places we visited. But there is much more we didnt have time to do
Overall it was the greatest experience for first time going to Cancun. Service is awesome. Everyone was wonderful and attentive. All inclusive and they really mean it. I would highly recommend staying there. I probably will not because we went out to explore activities everyday and did not enjoy the hotel as much as we should have. We rented a car and traveled several places to get to know Cancun and its beautiful places. We ate other places throughout the day and had to pay extra since we were not at our hotel.

Everything was great. Just as good as last years stay. one bad thing is that two hours before checkout time (12 noon) they cut off our Wi-Fi so we couldn't conferm our plane reservations and turned off the room key so we couldn't get back into our room for final check.

Not Worth The Price, good staff

Cons: The beach was not nice at all, we did have a bad thunderstorm for the first 2 days so there was seaweed everywhere. There isn't much coastline.
Location: 3. The location is very nice as you can walk right into the downtown area. It's about 20 minutes from the airport.
The overall stay was not bad but there were a few up and downs. 1. The Staff is phenomenal. From the moment we checked in until we left they were very helpful. I even asked to have someone come clean our room around 5pm as we were sleeping when the original lady came and although it was time for everyone to leave they still sent someone up. The bar staff is very friendly and helpful, so is the buffet staff. PLEASE TIP!!! I don't understand how so many people just sat there while people waited on them hand and foot without even tipping. You don't have to give much, a few bucks here and there is fine. These people go a mile a minute and will get you anything you need. There are some things you should not expect. People always ask for their room to be changed and unless you have something broken or bugs in your room they won't change the room. They'll say it's full and to try in the morning, which pretty much means they won't do it. The buffet is your best bet, all the restaurants have 1-2 options for apps/entrees only so you have limited choices. Restaurants get booked days in advance so make sure you go asap. You can book from 8am-4pm

First time in Cancun hotel zone & this place was great. Excellent food & service & great location right in the middle of the action. Location on beach one off the best. Seems pricey even on sale but anything quality in hotel zone is.
