“QUAINT! AND VERY CLEAN”
Terracaribe is perfect for vacationers who want to stay on a budget. The entire hotel is clean and the rooms are superclean, including the bathrooms, Which is so important. we were very comfortable. The staff is helpful.
“Nice budget hotel”
Nice budget hotel located in downtown area. Across the street there's a gas station and convinence store and you can catch a bus to the hotel zone there too. Walkable distance to ferry pier to Isla Mujeres. Staff is very friendly and helpful. On-site restaurant offers breakfast in the morning but note that it is not open on Sunday.
“For Mexico, this hotel is hands down close to the US four stars rating”
The restaurant was closed upon arrival, so Fredi, the guest service agent walked me across the street to the Express mart to make sure that I was safe, that was a concern of mine since I was travelling alone and it was dark out. He waited as I shopped and walked me back to the hotel. Up close and personal service is often a bonus at these types of hotels (one niter or two) and I was very happy with their service and highly reccomend it to anyone that requires a hotel near the ferry port and airport. It was convenient, clean, economical and safe.
“Terracaribe- Great little hotel”
When we planned out trip we were expecting to stay in down town Cancun, we knew it was not going to be in the Hotel District, so we weren't sure what to expect. The hotel staff were very friendly, and they were very stingent on the cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel in general. It's a cute little walled in hotel off a main road. The staff were very helpful in hailing us cabs, explaining how much a cab should cost to certain destinations and such. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch and is very good and extremely reasonably priced. Some of the other guests from the U.S. didn't seem to be as happy as we were with their stay, but we knew for the most part what we were getting into, we also tried to use our spanish and understood that we were in a foreign country and didn't expect everyone to cater to us. We had a great time and would definately stay here again!!
“Was great”
Hotel is located in Downtown Cancun (near to the Puerto Juares - from there You can go to the Isla Mejueres) and it is not a problem to get to the Hotel Zone (with a bus). There are also some shops in the near of this hotel (cheaper than shops in the Hotel Zone) und You can eat very good in this area. back to the hotel... it was really clean, people at the desk (especially joung lady and manager) and housekeeper were very friendly and helpfully. There is one thing i have more too say - street by the Hotel can be niosy - if You want too sleep by 11am and go to sleep before 10 pm, You have to consider this- I was waking up at 8am and was going to sleep at 23 so it wasn't a problem for me. I didn't eat at Hotel restaurant - I wanted to try everyday smoething new. Honestly, I would give four stars to this hotel - it was really better than 3* hotel in Egypt and in the same nevau like 4* in Tunisia. Oh... I wasn't looking for the hotels with the beaches, because i wanted to spend my holidays active.
“Perfect for a night or two”
The hotel was perfect for a one night stay. It has a nice inner court yard and the staff was fantastic. If you just need a place to stay while you enjoy Cancun and the surrounding area this is ideal. I wouldn't spend an entire vaction here but for a night or two it was economical and quite comfortable with great service.
“Clean room and good onsite restaurant”
Taxi rides to Hotel Zonera were $10 or $15 depending on location visited. The rooms in the back had a roof where you could sunbathe. Decent restaurants in Cancun city were only $5 away by taxi or a 20 minute walk during the day (walking there at night was not recommended). This was my second visit to Cancun. The previous time I stayed at a hotel in the Hotel Zonera closer to the bars, but I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Terricabe more and paid much less for the room. I definitely recommend this hotel for single travelers or friends traveling together.
“saving a few bucks”
this hotel was very clean. the staff was professional & courteous. the hotel is definitely away from the tourist area.the only negative comments are :they had no wash cloths at all, upon arrival the best day tour rep was not present needless to say there was no welcome dinner.however overall the hotel is located in the inner city right on the bus line if you need to save a few bucks rather than getting taxis.i would recommend this hotel if you want to be away from the zone.
“Great Bargain!”
Great Bargain for the expedia price we paid. Nice staff. Free Internet service. Near hotel row and downtown area by city bus @ .60cents
