Great Hotel in Cancun

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: The people. The food.
Cons: Softer beds
Location: Chitchen Itza, lots of water activities
Really enjoyed this place- food was fantastic. The staff was amazing. Very clean. Beds were a little hard-only bad thing we had to say about it! Would go back in a heartbeat.

A home away from home! !

Posted Oct 11, 2014
After a long day stuck at the airport due to weather delay. Our vacation was starting off horribly. Once I arrived at The Royal Cancun our vacation took a positive turn greeted by friendly staff. It was late when we arrived and we were extremely hungry. We were accommodated by room service with some delicious food. The room was super clean and maid always made sure we had clean towels twice a day. Carlos the snorkeling instructor taught my family how to snorkel. The concierge Socora was great and very informative. The waiters Renando and Juan were awesome. The restaurant had the best hot dog and nachos. Everything about this resort was excellent. I suggest anyone staying here get the all inclusive package. This is a must stay place while in Cancun. The locals were very friendly. Thanks Expedia for making this trip possible for a family of 5. All the other travel agency's wanted to charge us for 2 rooms. Expedia we will definitely book our next vacation with you. PUNTA CANA here we come!!!

Bar closes at 10; dead resort after that; people nice but seem to expect at tip after service;uncomfortable because they issue you a bill after being served

Excellent!

Pros: Its location next to the ferry, bus stop, and not too far awAy from downtown, the calm and shallow water is very safe for the kids.
Cons: Please get rid of check system for all inclusive guests.
Location: Ultramar ferry, captain hook, and other party ships are within wAlking distance.
Our family stayed at the Royal Cancun the second to last week of August 2014. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful resort. Many thanks to their staff for making our stay memorable. We got to the resort early on a Sunday morning and Rosa at the front desk was very kind to let us have an early check in with a beautiful smile. All the staff at the La Palapa and La Trattoria are awesome. My 8 years old nephew has many food allergies and the staff was very accommodating. He did not have a single reaction during our stay at the Royal thanks to their caring. Manuel, Cesar, Freddy, Chuk (trattoria bar) , and Jerermias are some of the many wonderful staff that helped makes our vacation hassel free. Thank you and we will be back.

Plenty of space and not too crowded

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Not too crowded. Peacefully. Had a good local feel. Clean rooms and grounds.
Cons: Better attention from waiters around pool. Was not asked for drinks.
Location: Location was close to pirates ships and ferries. Hard to walk anywhere in cancun.
Large rooms with comfy surroundings. Plenty of space around the pools and did not have to stake out a pool or beach chair. Rooms were spacious with kitchens and living rooms. A/C was cold enough when needed.

wonderful location,the most respectful staff

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: everithing
Cons: kisses chocolates for all the beds in the apartment, at night
Location: Great location, safe environment. You can name anything you want to do ,and it is possible to do it with kids or without.
We were there for 8 days,a family of 5(2 adults,3 kids).Starting with the front desk employees to the room service one,all of them were the most courteous and willing to help you in the matter of minutes. The location is very friendly for adults and children.Rooms very large and spotless(were cleaned in the morning, and at night, the supervisor was getting the beds ready for the night). The beach is next to the resort, pools very clean and family friendly. Lots of things you can do in the resort and outside it(at the other 4-5 sister resorts where we visited and it was wonderful). Overall it was the best place we've stayed so far, cleanest, kind, and well organized with all activities and trips.

Ok 4 1st timers, needs new experienced management

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: the restaurant and pool staff are wonderful, Parasailing
Cons: the annoying requirement of room key at all times, even for water! need more restaurants, more that one beach towels booth for the whole hotel!
Location: No taxis or transportation that belongs to the hotel, nothing at a walking distance!, no transportation to or from surrounding attractions!
1st the lobby needs to be more Mexican!, First impression: I go to check in and the receptionist asks for my credit card!, I tell him that I have all exclusive deal and I don't feel comfortable leaving my credit card at the front desk, so he goes, then leave cash!!, I insist that I'm not leaving my card nor cash, charge whatever to my room and I'll pay it at check out, after 15 minutes of waiting for him making his calls to his managers, he gives me the keys to my room with no apology! I drag my luggage to my room and which was a wonderful beachfront 2 bed/2 baths villa. 3 restaurants, one is no where to be found, so it's down to 2!, everywhere you go, you have to give them the room key (although, it is all inclusive!!) except for the bathroom!, later I get a call from my "Concierge" who is supposed to make your stay magical by guiding you to all these restaurants and located on "Sister hotels" premises, only to find out that he is a Time share sales person and whom I'm very familiar with from other resorts that I've been to and learnt not to waste my time on. I travel with my wife and 4 kids, I go to rent a Jetski for 1/2 hr. to take each kid for 5 minutes and this is thrilling to them!, I sign and ready to go when the attendant tells me that I have to take each kid for 15 minutes!, yes he is telling me what to do! I cancel and walk away, we finally found Parasailing that seats 3 at a time, this was was the best part of the trip, you have to try it. D.R & Jamaica are #1
