Great resort with quite beach

Posted Mar 29, 2015
The Royal Cancun was a great place for our families spring break. Booked a trip to Xel Ha with the Thomson desk. Food was very good. Try the Italian restuarant. The view was amazing from the room and the pools were convenient and not a long walk. The rooms were nice too and very home-ish. The buffet was great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Grounds are exceptionally clean. Highly recommend.

Great vacation at the Royal Cancun

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: The food, the service and the accomodations. Overall, very satisfied with this 4* hotel in Cancun.
Cons: The only negative I could find is that even if you take the' all inclusive', you have to present your room key every time you order something.
Location: On the Cancun strip. Could take the bus in front of the hotel to go to shops.
We stayed at the Royal Cancun the 1st week of march 2015. Overall, we had a great vacation. The suites are extremely clean. It is an older hotel but very well kept. The beds are conformable, the boys had their own room with two single beds. We had a pool view, which I recommend. The family we traveled with had a lagoon view and it was a bit more noisy because of the street behind it. Overall, the resort is fairly small, so no matter where you are, everything is pretty close. The rooms all have big safes that can store a laptop computer. Also, there is WiFi in the rooms and even on the beach. The beach is beautiful and the water is calm and shallow. This is great if you have kids and also for us, because we could practice water sports (they have paddle boards, sailboats, kayaks). Their is a little pier from which we could jump of into the water and swim. The negative is that they beach is not very long, so you can not take long long walks. We did spend a day at the Royal Sands and their beach is totally different. It is very pretty and long, but a lot of the time, the sea is very rough, so there is a RED flag for swimming. It is worth spending at least a day there, as it is part of the all inclusive and there is a free shuttle that runs to the Royal Sands every 2 hours. The food was also excellent. There is not a lot of restaurant choices at the Royal Cancun (only two the Palapa and the Tratorria) both very good on top of the snack bar but there is plenty of variety.

Great hotel for young families

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Lounge chairs always available, friendly staff, very clean facilities and rooms.
Cons: Buffet should have more variety and the dishes should be filled up faster than they are. They often sit empty for a period of time.
Location: Close to ferry, playa Linda. Bus ride away from everything in the hotel zone.
We stayed during spring break. We had a two bedroom villa facing the pool. The room and the grounds were very clean. The staff hard working and very friendly. The beach is beautiful and water shallow for very young kids. There was always a lounge chair available by the pool or on the beach. The reason I give it a 4 is because of the food. The buffet is small and the selection is limited and repetitive. In addition the pirate ships go by every night and can be noisy sometimes as late as 2:45 am...this is out of the hotel's control but annoying anyway. The location is also within walking distance of the ferry to Isla Mujeres. There is no entertainment at this hotel so not a good hotel to party at. Very quiet resort after 10 pm.

Chilled resort

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Resort was very family friendly. It was also relatively small which meant that it was easy to get around and was not too noisy and crowded. It was very relaxed, staff were always more than willing to help. It was great that the restaurant was right on the beach.

Great for families!

Posted Mar 26, 2015
The suites are perfect for families who want more room and the option of eating and cooking in their room. Right on the beach with two pools! The resort could use a few more waiters and bartenders, but overall a great experience. I would go back.

Great place to stay

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Cons: The air conditioner in the room was a little loud as it cycled on and off.
It's an older resort but very well maintained. Even at peak season the beach and pool areas weren't too packed. Very enjoyable, staff was extremely friendly. They track your room card for inclusive meals/drinks, and present a bill for zero at the end to sign (with a spot for an optional tip). This does make tipping easy (even though it's not mandatory and is included) but makes it harder to grab a single drink, etc. Easier to ask for an extra key and leave a "tab" open and close at the end of the day, or get a key for your kids. Thoroughly enjoyed the resort and the staff, and as much as it's not grandiose compared to some, it's a fabulous place to stay.

Loved this place, would recommend it to everyone.

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Make one of the pools for adults only.
Location: Easy to catch a bus right outside the resort to go up and down the strip for shopping or night life or to head into Cancun City.
The grounds were kept spotless and gorgeous. The food was the best that I have ever had at any all inclusive we have been to. You could also order off the menu or go to the food bar. Two restaurants on the site to eat at and three or four other restaurants off site you can go to. Our room was fabulous and super clean. All rooms are 2 bedroom with full kitchen so you could fix your own meals if you wanted not to go the all inclusive route. It has two pools really nice size with one having a swim up bar. The only thing we wished was that one be kept for adults. There were children at the facility but not to many that you felt you needed to get away. The beach was spotless and gorgeous also with lots of seats and shade if you wanted it. You can lay on the beach and watch the 1/2 million dollar boats go by. There isn't a night life at the resort you will have to hit the strip for that.

Pause hivernale

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Tout...!!!
