Not recommend for young adultsPosted Nov 28, 2013
Pros: The only thing I liked about this resort was that we were upgraded from 3 rooms to a suit.
Cons: Communication between hotel booking WIFI Fixture in the rooms
Location: We had to travel by bus which was fine with us. Everything is near by
This must have been the worst resort I have ever spent my vacation. I did some research before booking the hotel being a 4 star I thought I was looking for a great stay. I booked 3 rooms and they were only able to locate 2 out of 3. I was charged 35.00 per night for an extra adult. My sister and her family had to have a spear room until the following day. There was no shampoo/conditioner or coffee that the hotel provides to their guest. We had to move to multiple room until my other room was located. I was frustrated and upset because of the lack of communication between Expedia and the hotel. We were upgraded to a suit which was nice. The only reason we were upgraded was because we complained and notified them that we were going to report them to the commission of the US and Mexico. We were not willing to move rooms on Saturday because they work from Saturday to Saturday. Once in our suit the WI-FI did not work inside. In order to use the internet we had to set outside on the balcony or in the lobby which was very inconvenient. The latch from the shower head was broken which I called 2x to have it fix. They did not come till the next day. There was a leak on the roof in the bathroom which we had to place a pot underneath. We lost electricity in one of the rooms. Thank God we were able to fix it with the breaker. We found out that this resort is for old people over the age of 50 years old. Not recommend for young people or families who have children. I wish I had took picture

All Negative Reviews Seem to be TruePosted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: The property is well-maintained by the hard working staff. Property is spotless. Most of the staff, except those at the front-desk, seem friendly.
Cons: Change that Saturday to Saturday policy Or make it a time-share only club. As hotel guests, our experience was far from being pleasant.
Location: Far from shopping and restaurants if you intend to explore outside the resort.
I read a lot of negative reviews before our trip but decide to ignore them because I've had pleasant stays at hotels that weren't reviewed positively. But upon checking-in on that Thursday, I realized all the negative comment on The Royal Caribbean are somewhat all true. First of all, we were told we have to move to another building on Saturday because they need to make room for time-share members. When questioned about this strange policy, the front-desk manager simply said it was clearly listed on Expedia website. The fact is nowhere do I recall seeing such a policy when we made the reservation. And I would never have booked this resort had I known such policy existed. merely because nobody wants to unpack, repack and unpack again during a short vacation at the same hotel. Secondly, there's no maid service on Sundays. I understand the maids have every right to have their days off, but at a hotel? We had to make our own beds, learned to reuse wet towels after taking multiple showers during the hot and humid day. Truly feeling at home, except we are NOT getting any discount on the room. If you have to stay at such a "resort", AVOID Saturdays and Sundays!! Thirdly, the AC unit in the rooms are so loud that we had to raise our voice to talk when the unit is on or raise the volume of TV if we happen to watch a show. A royal treatment? I guess not!

Walk right to the beachPosted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: That it was right on the beach! The view was awesome!
Cons: A few more bikes could be added to the workout room, as when it rains the gym fills up.
I enjoyed the hotel very much, it was right on the beach and the pool area was large. Unfortunately it rained for my entire stay except for 3 hours! I had a room with a view looking out onto the beach, beautiful view. There was an older crowd, but since I was there to catch up on my reading, it worked out just fine. I didn't take advantage of going to the other hotels in the Royal family, as I was only there for 4 days. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, though the drinks were on the weak side. Checking out on Saturday was a little chaotic, as the bell boys didn't seem to want to help me, don't know if it was because I was on my own and only had carry on bags.

Clean hotel with good servicePosted Oct 21, 2013
Advertising did not specify that this was more of a place designed to stay for a week. I just had one night in transit in Cancun. The payment for all services was very complicated - wanting exact change, not credit card friendly on beach. No other complaints - was mostly a positive experience.

Charming resort near the airportPosted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: They are not a hotel ..we stayed in a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen and access to the balcony from the living room and bedroom...
Cons: Restaurant on site could improve their menu..
Location: A short bus ride to the isla mall for shopping and dinner on the lagoon side..Great sunsets!!
Quiet resort..We spent our time at the pool and beach of the Royal Sands.. livelier group of people at their Happy Hour...easier access to the beach too so you could go back and forth all day..
