Royal Carribean rooms old & dated and hidden trapsPosted Sep 18, 2014
The Royal Carribean is a very large resort right on the beach withbeautiful pools and surrounds. However the rooms are very old and dated, the sheets were old and worn and rooms needed an update and some tender loving care. BEWARE of the hidden traps! There is nothing mentioned in the booking process however you cannot use cash anywhere, and you cant use your credit card anywhere in the resort. You must use the charge card they provide you with and charge everything to your room. The property is know when you shop ing centres or anything so you need to get a bus or taxi to the shopping centres

Clean place didn't like the room change on Saturday due to time share.food not good by pool bar and to get service on the beach no initiative at all.store food choices were good but pricey. Enjoyed the unit and beach but considering all the choices in Cancun really can't recommend the royal carribean. Cherry in concierge, hellario and perfecto both bellmen were very polite and a pleasure to meet.

A nice resort to stay at for first time to Cancun.Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: It had a nice little grocery store at the resort, a place for breakfast overlooking the pool and the beach was wonderful.
Cons: Wish there was a section of the beach that was softly lit if anyone who wanted to sit out at night with their feet in the sand. It would get very dark
Location: Walking distance to other restaurants, a short bus ride to the mall and downtown Cancun, And there is a Walmart.
First time to Cancun. Weather was great and the water was beautiful. We were there from June 9th - 14th. It only rained one day and that was on the second to last day of our stay. Wonderful experience!

Right on the beachPosted Aug 16, 2014
Cons: Lowered prices for the restaurants so that it brings the overall cost of the trip down.
We had a wonderful stay. This was our second time in Mexico, but our first time here. I know that every time I do come back to Cancun I will be staying at this hotel. The room was big and gorgeous, minutes away from the beach, view that overlooked the ocean, kitchen, and most important very clean. An added bonus during the month of July female turtles come and lay their eggs. This hotel is the only one that I saw that has an around the clock staff watching to see if any turtles came and laid their eggs, if in the process of laying their eggs they make sure that people are far away and not taking pictures. In the morning they dig up the eggs and place them in a fenced off section so that we do not destroy them. Final note this is a very kid friendly hotel as well with many activities for them to do. (age 4 and up)

The most beautiful experience in CancunPosted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Hotel room, pools, gardens. The beach was beautiful at that place. Internet connection fast and free. Agreement with other hotels
Location: Many restaurants and discos going North
I was completely satisfied by this hotel. I got a suite for my wife, two children, and me for an excellent price. It had one King bed and two retractable beds in the living room. The kitchen was fully equipped. The suite was located in the first floor, had a balcony and direct access to the pool. The internet connection was free and excellent. There were few parking places but I could get one every time. The hotel had several pools, and the water temperature was perfect. The beach was wonderful, and there was a bar from the hotel on the beach. There was agreement with other hotels, I went to the Royal Islander and the Royal Sands and paid the expenses with my room key. There were many things to do, like free bicycles, tennis court, yoga classes, painting lessons for kids, and so on, but I did not have time to enjoy them. I would love to come back to his place for more days next year.

VERY DisappointingPosted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: It is on the beach
Cons: respectfulness to children, up keeping of the units
I was appalled by the negligence of the hotel. I travel a lot and have never experienced such negligence. The hotel was portrayed as a family friendly hotel, yet they failed to warn families about their cable issues. Apparently, they show free adult movies without warning to families. I had my younger son with me and told him to watch his cartoon movie while I took a shower and when I finished I noticed the channel as I changed the channels for a show to watch. So, my son was exposed to that nonsense. I spoke to the person in charge on site and they mentioned other families complaining but they said they couldn’t do anything and apologized. Yet, they failed to warn us. They were also out of towels for the pool quite a bit. The air conditioning was loud. The information given was inconsistent amongst the employees.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time to post about our resort. We are deeply sorry for you to have such experience. Our resort tv service does not provide access to any adult specialized channels and we do provide the channel list in all of our units. However: we have been noticed that some movie channels sometimes do broadcast contents which may not be suitable for all ages. We appreciate your comments and will make sure that everything from our side stays clean and accurate to provide a better service for our guest and this perception is not shared by any of them ever again. We hope you've enjoyed the rest of your experience in Mexican Caribbean. Warm Regards

Summer in CancunPosted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Great friendly staff, nice room!
Cons: Navigating the various buildings can become challenging. Stairways not always conveniently located.
Location: Plenty of activities, ( horseback riding, snorkeling, speedboats, etc..)
Took the family to Cancun for this year's summer vacation. We stayed at the Royal Caribbean. The overall appearance of the hotel was nice, however it is tucked backed on a hill of a recessed alleyway. The room was pretty nice! It was a one bedroom suite with two Murphy beds, a sofa and a kitchenette. It easily sleeps six. There were two balconies, with nice patio furniture. We had a very nice ocean view. This is a time share, so come prepared for a sales pitch! Although, it is a good way to earn a hotel discount, $100, and discounts on various activities. We had a couple of issues. The shower's water pressure was pretty high and caused a minor overflow when the kids showered. The worst issue was a foul odor, (smelled like mildew and sewage), that we awoke to. We called the font desk, twice, and someone finally came up to tell us it was humidity???? They ended up bringing in a humidifier. The smell eventually subsided.

Nice hotel next to the beachPosted Jul 29, 2014
Cons: I would have rated it Excellent
Location: It is Perfect if you have a car or are very adventurous to have a ride by bus.
I was disappointed of the way the Lobby was looking, needs to be refurnished . The pool were nice, only bad memory experience was , they my 8 years old boy got stung by a Sea Algae while swimming in the sea. When I explained the situation at the front desk , for my son was in pain and crying , they were kind of " It is Nothing". Also the first Day when we arrived to our Suite, after a10 hours Flight, I got the bad surprise that Children beds were not done,no Courtesy Toiletries and the room was smelling bad! So very much disappointed , maybe because our expectations were higher for what we have the knowledge of how a a Suite should look. Bed was comfortable .
