“Great Margarita's and service”

We stayed for 6 nights and every day the weather was beautiful. A little windy but beautiful every day. We used the free shuttle service to visit other hotels then walked to shopping. The room was huge. definitely go for the villa! Any problems we had were promptly taken care of and everyone was extremely helpful. The breakfast omelets and the carved turkey sandwich on a croissant was my favorite but all the food was delicious. We loved visiting the attached hotels' bars and restaurants as well as pools. Pay for one stay at 5 (3 are attached). It was very relaxing and enjoyable. They also have their own water treatment plant which makes freshwater for all three resorts so you don't have to worry about getting sick. We will be back.

“Great for a 2 night Stay....all the comforts, best for Families”

Management has really made the place, like their other 2 properties, a destination. The little food store is completely adequate for all the little necessities you'd find at your home grocery store. Bring your own coffee, your own coffee filters, your own sugar, creamer, cereal, dry milk, etc., to save money. The smaller room for 2 of us had a fridge & coffee maker. The resort has a gorgeous beach (all the hotels do) and fully equipped pool area with outside staff for drinks and a restaurant. We actually took the free shuttle to another of their resorts for breakfast once. For the price, we splurged ONCE...too much for breakfast but there's no place closer. Staff was superb but BEST was our housecleaner....GREAT ATTITUDE, lovely smile and she kept the place spotless each day. We gave her a great TIP and she deserved it! Only drawback is the lack of adequate internet wireless (WiFi) coverage, so many with laptops are perched out on skinny balconies trying to get signal or huddled in the lobby area to get a decent, but usually low-speed signal. They could easily intall routers throughout the property to help this issue. Massages too much $$$ for my tastes.

“Great family vacation (all I expected and more)”

The resort is attached to two other sister hotels. All facilities are available to all guests. They are well maintained villas are roomy with full kitchen with all utensils needed to cook any meal. Maid service 5 days of the week kept the room spotless. Restaurants were good and reasonably priced. There is golf across the street and the resort offers loaner clubs at no charge. They also organize regular tournaments (2-3 per week) at some of the areas finer clubs. these are also very reasonably priced. It was a superb location for a family reunion/vacation

“Our stay at the Royal Islander Dec. 26 - 31, 2011”

We arrived to our two room villa at the Royal Islander on Monday, December 26 and found it to be very suitable to meet our needs as a family of five. Each person had his or her own bed. The restroom/vanity/linen closet areas were surprisingly large, and my son actually used one of the linen closets as his dressing room and storage for all of his belongings. The large balcony was the favorite resting/eating/lounging spot for everyone. The view overlooking the ocean in the rear and overlooking the bay from the front was fantastic. The staff took good care of us including housekeeping and all of the waiters/bartenders oceanside and poolside. We especially loved the drinks during happy hour. Water temperature could be an issue for some people; wetsuits were helpful for us. As a parent interested in beautiful family photos, we spent one evening walking around the facilities filtering through the connected Royal Caribbean and Royal Mayan and took many pictures with outstanding natural backdrops. The concierge was extremely courteous and visited the room to bring brochures and make himself available for any questions. We anticipated a sales pitch; however, he simply asked if we could possibly give twenty minutes of our time and he let us make that decision hassle free. The only frustration we experienced was an inability to connect to the internet. Nevertheless, we would definitely like to return to the Royal Islander.

“Oasis of calm - and an excellent level of service”

this hotel is in the quieter part of the 20 mile cancun hotel stretch. It's quiet, even when full but ideal for everyone, except perhaps older teenagers or those in their 20s who might be looking for more.

“Royal Resorts in Cancun are Great!”

Didn't visit the other two hotels connected to us, but it seems to be convenient to have them there if you want a change of pace. Pool was great. The pool deck is 4 stories above the beach level, so it's not a quick walk out to the beach. There is a nice sand bar that reaches out into the ocean for 100 yards or so, and that made playing in the ocean more fun. All of the staff were great, the food was ok at the resturaunt, nothing to brag about. The busses that go up to the Sands and the Royal Cancun provide some free transportation to areas other than your hotel. The rooms are awesome, and it's great to have the little grocery store there. We checked prices against the OXXO and it's actually a little cheaper. I'm sure you could get stuff much cheaper at the Walmart, but that is a $40 taxi up and $40 back, so in the end it's just easier to use the stores at the hotels. Would go back to any of the Royal Resorts again, and recommend to everyone.

“The Best at the Royal Islander!”

We have always stayed at very nice hotels in Cancun and enjoyed our stays. However, this time we chose the condo atmosphere of the Royal Islander. We liked it so much more! It was more comfortale to spread out with another room. Having a kitchen was more convenient. There was a "Market place" in the complex. We bought ceral, juice and milk and had breadfast on the balconey over looking the ocean - lovely! We could even bring our leftovers from dinner out and warm them up for lunch the next day! We also felt in general the peope we met sitting around the pool were more friendly since they were there for 3-4 weeks and would strike up conversations. All in all a very enjoyable vacation!
