A small, quiet hotel at the center of the islandPosted Dec 14, 2013
Pros: I loved staying there: quite; inside decor a wonderful combination of blond wood and matching stone; friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: There is a charge for internet access in your room; but it is free in the lobby.
Location: Within walking distance of a grocery store; a quick taxi ride to the beach at the north & south end (swimming, stand-up-paddle boarding, snorkeling).

Quick get awayPosted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: pool, room, staff
Cons: pool bar and food could be charged to your room as well as excursions instead of having to pay cash in addition better wifi reception
Location: Grocery store and several restaurants. Its such a small island most things are walking distance but a cab will take you anywhere for $5
the hotel was very nice and clean the only downfall is at the bar/food center at the pool you could not charge anything to your room it was all cash including excursions you paid hotel. We went to other hotels and had great wifi but not at Villa Vera. The staff Martha and Pamela were off the chart wonderful. Although it does not have a restaurant the bar has wonderful food so no complaints and its walking distance to a grocery store for snacks in your room.

Stay here!Posted May 27, 2013
Pros: The room was amazing!
Location: Away from the hustle and bustle of the north end. This was a very quiet site.
In researching a hotel while making plans to visit Isla, I came across the reviews of Villa Vera, and was intrigued. Our friends always stay at the Avalon, and rave about all the nice places on Punta Norte. We kept coming back to the reviews of the Villa Vera, though. That picture of the white room with the big blue bed and the ... hot tub? on the balcony - that looked so nice! We booked the Villa Vera through Expedia, opting for one of the 1,300 sq ft villas. We thought the place was wonderful. Yes, it's few minutes by golf cart from Centro, but it's very quiet and peaceful. All of the rooms surround that big blue pool. We could (and did) open up the big sliding doors on both floors, and laid out in the hammock. The hotel, as others have mentioned, is centrally located. The staff we spoke to were all bi-lingual, and very helpful. We found the main bed to be firm, and the staff provided a pad to go over it that helped a lot. Oh...the hot tub on the balcony is not hot - it's not heated, but that's ok on a hot day. The big jacuzzi tub inside worked just fine. (Note of caution - don't activate the jacuzzi pump without water in the tub!) The hotel, pool, grounds were all immaculately clean. The water pressure was a little low, and we had a few sugar ants inside, but neither was a big problem for us. Stayed May 2013, traveled as a couple

Nice Hotel but not on the beachPosted Nov 13, 2008 on Hotels.com
Villa Vera on the Isla Musjeres is a nice hotel. We had higher expectations. The staff was extremely pleasant but slow. For example the Hotel does not issue you a key for the room bar when you check in. You must wait for a maid to come by the room and do an inventory which you must sign. It took 3 hours, (yes 3 hours) from when we requested the maid until she finally showed up. Even with multiple calls to the front desk and I personally went to the desk and requested she please come. Each time I called or requested her, I was told she would be in the room in 20 minutes. This was extremely aggravating. The hotel is well groomed and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. It has a beautiful pool with a swim up bar. The menu for the hotel is limited but was enough for our stay. The other disappointing issue is the hotel is not on the beach. It is located next to the marina. The view is basically of lots of large boats docked on the water. In addition, next to the hotel is a shipyard that does work 7 days a week. It was not that distracting but we did not expect it either. Overall it is not a bad hotel just keep the above issues in mind before booking it. If we went back to Isla Musjeres we most likely would not stay at Villa Vera, only because we would have rather stayed at a hotel on the beach.
