Lovely stayPosted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
I stayed at this B&B for business while judging a horse show at the Deerfield Fairgrounds. It was very close to the grounds, which was nice. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and I slept well. The couple that runs the B&B are extremely nice and personable. I plan on staying again while I'm at the Deerfield Fair this year.

A rural and historic place to stayPosted Jun 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The owners are welcoming and congenial. The breakfast was excellent, and it is close to Pawtuckaway State Park and a number of restaurants.

Leisurely Relaxed StayPosted Sep 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
We had a good night at the Stephen Clay B&B. The inn was clean, homey, beds were comfortable, and bathroom was convenient and clean. Breakfast was hearty and good. Enjoyed the conversation with the innkeepers. The rates were reasonable, it was worth the extra bit of driving. Thanks!

immaculately clean and charming.....Posted Aug 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
we had a wonderful surprise trying this-our 1st B & B- on our way to a dear one's memorial service. Our hosts were very engaging and happily shared the history of this charming, well appointed home in New Hampshire. We had a "shared bath" but we were the only guests that night so we had all the guest space to ourselves! The bedroom was beautiful, filled with interesting memoriabelia and antiques (and a very comfortable 4 poster bed) as is the rest of "this old house"....TV is available in the comfortable sitting room, breakfast served in another "very charming" dining room. Fresh fruit salad, juice, delicious coffee and eggs benedict were our choices for breakfast which was perfect-so delicious and fresh! When we come this way again, we will plan to reserve our room at Stephen Clay Homestead B & B-immaculately clean and charming!

A Personal ExperiencePosted Jul 17, 2012
Pros: the way the home was displayed and the hospitality displayed by both the owners
Cons: a shared bathroom
Location: Candia, NH
i finally found why the b and b experience is considered relaxing. It is the personal interaction, the communication usually around the breakfast table, with the other travelers and with the owners of the establishment.... it was enlightening and humorous and really made the visit and stay so appealing !! For that reason alone I would give this homestead a definite thumbs up. The only part I would update, is that each room have their own bath, that was the one drawback. Not a problem, just a suggestion. My sister and I loved the Stephen Clay Bed and Breakfast. The owners gave suggestions of places in the area to have dinner and directions to our destinations, they were extremely helpful and fun. thanks so much for offering your home to the public as you do. Sincerely Diana M.
