We went to check in and no one was there. We called the number on the door and there was no answer. We left a message and no one called us back. Luckily we found somewhere else to stay.

The room was clean and beds comfortable. The only thing that was off was there was no towels in the room. Found them eventually in the laundry area.

Room clearly hadn't been serviced. The trash cans outside were overfilling with trash and never addressed. Beds were clean, but that's about it. Defiantly NOT worth the money. There's also clearly people living in these rooms. I'd avoid this place. The picture are very deceiving.

Of course their are people that live here. When your job makes you travel and away from home where would you think they would live?? In there cars?? Pretty certain just about every motel across the US has people temporarily living in them from time to time. And what is wrong with that?? Some of the most awesome guests we have had are our long term temporary guests working in the area either on roads or as travel nurses. Sorry that made your stay unpleasant knowing that they lived here!

Nice clean small property. Very late check-in (after 9 pm). No problem at all. Called office. Staff was there after 2 minutes. Very nice and friendly. Pet friendly. Only $10 fee for dog. No issue with a 45 lb dog. Stayed one night only on a Road Trip. Would book it again. Thank you!

Quiet Comfortable Motel
Modest '50s style older strip motel. Clean, comfortable. Hostess - helpful and gracious. Great for dog. Direct exit to outside. Good place to walk dog. Low pet fee. Canistota is only 5 miles or so from I-90, but it has a very remote feel. Dog wanted to go out at 2 am. The streets are lit, but the silence is deep. Nothing was moving and traffic noise from the interstate didn't travel to Canistota. Internet OK. Ookla 14 Mbps. Occasionally dropped."

We ended up arriving quite late and we were able to call ahead to let them know and they had the keys ready for us and processed our payment so we could get into the trim and settled right away.

U bar was a nice quiet place for overnight stay during our travel across South Dakota. Worked out well for us. Easy check in and reasonable priced. Only negative is that it was a little off our path but was an easy drive to and from I 90.

Hotel very bad I don’t recommend when I came there was no one in the office the office really dirty they say that the breakfast is free and it’s not true and the place where the breakfast is very dirty and dusty outside the hotel very very dirty I had to cancel my stay in this hotel of how dirty it is and I had to pay for one night for charges I don’t recommend very bad hotel

Called 3 times to number for desk with no answer. When i showed up office was locked and a young man came and booked me in saying his mom was gone. On speaker phone she gave him a room to put us in and said it was cleaned and ready. The room was absolutely filthy and no way it had been cleaned at all. Upon checkout again the office was empty with nobody to check out with so i just left. They had no breakfast to offer even though the booking said it did...the young man was nice and helpful but that was the only good thing.

Best place in town
This is our 2nd stay because the staff is so friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There are other choices in town, but these people are kind and truly appreciate your business.

The manager was very accommodating. She quickly took care of all requests. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The bath towels were soft and fluffy. The HVAC was very noisey. We had to run it for awhile and then shut it off to be able to hear each other and to sleep. Not sure if it was just in out room, or all. We didn't speak to the manager about it - just dealt with it.

Sturgis stopover
I was on a trip to the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Registered online. Small town where everything closed at sunset. No one at office when I arrived at midnight, but owner responded from out of town within 15 minutes of me calling posted phone number. Rate was reasonable, room was in good condition, and customer service was excellent. The owner returned in the morning to prepare french toast and coffee for guests as they got up. Met up with other veteran rally attenders and got great tips on making the best of the event. Would definitely stay here again!

Don’t bother booking in South Dakota small town
We were told there wasn’t a room for us after we booked on line. We were asked if we wanted 2 single rooms at same price.. no we have 2 adults and 14 yr old boys so we didn’t want to have them alone in a room or share a bed with kids. After 29 min. He said he had a dirty room that I ended up cleaning and changing sheets as he washed out sink. I discovered next morning.. no toilet paper and even though complimentary breakfast was from 7-11 at 9 no one was even in the office yet to unlock. The family that showed up just after he left at 11:15 pm was who I felt most sorry for. They didn’t even get in a room & had to leave. They called # on office door only to hear the phone inside empty office ringing.

Very nice hotel in the middle of a little town. Comfortable beds, a clean room, and enough towels and washclothes were provided. No mini fridge. Breakfast was suppose to start at 7:00 and staff showed up 10 minutes late so we decided to leave and grab food on the way out of town.

Good hotel for the money but no breakfast.
About 10 minutes off the freeway- quiet neighborhood. Motel was clean and front desk attendant was very pleasant. Room and beds were very comfortable. Great motel for the price. I was disappointed that breakfast was suppose to be included, and by 8:15am the front office was still locked and all the lights were off. When traveling with 6 people we take the “breakfast included” into consideration with the cost of the night’s stay. Plus breakfast and coffee at the hotel saves us time from getting off the freeway to grab something. There was also no shampoo in the room.

Was not expecting to be so far and secluded from Sioux Falls. Shower head was broken and we missed breakfast because it was only until 9am. That being said, the room was one of the cleanest rooms I’ve ever stayed in and I was very impressed. Did the job for what we needed which was a restful sleep.

On the third night we discovered bed bugs in our pillows. this was also after discovering bites on our arms and legs from the previous nights sleep. Also in the 4 night stay our room was never serviced. Very disappointed with this motel especially since it was a great stay last year.
