Great value, convenient locationPosted Jul 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Good value, walking distance to Palais and main center of action. Hotel room was standard but clean. Area was quiet and safe. Only complaint is that the shower is very small, can't take a shower without hitting the doors.

Very French HotelPosted Jun 2, 2013
Location is a little far from where most of the Cannes hotels are located - you will need to walk up a steep hill to get there. It's fine for most people, but my friend who is 37 yrs old and not super fit (American - not European) could barely make it. If you are French, the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. This was the ONLY hotel I stayed at where I was not feeling very welcome. I am learning the language, am very polite and friendly and I love French culture. For whatever reason, these people don't like Americans, so they will match the unfortunate stereotype that alot of Americans have. For this reason, I recommend you stay somewhere else so that you will walk away with a good experience of the beautiful warm and friendly southern French culture! Otherwise, the hotel is beautifully decorated, nice room, and affordable for Cannes.

Nothing fancy, but great location and very cleanPosted May 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
We booked this hotel for the Cannes Film Festival. At the time, it was the least expensive available hotel close to the Festival. Nothing is particularly luxe or cute about this hotel, but all aspects of the hotel (bathroom, bedding, carpet, balcony) are extremely clean. I am also sensitive to musty smells and our room always smelled fresh. For the festival, the location was excellent: a 14-minute walk to the Palais des Festivals, but away of the thick of the late night noise and crowds. There was a busy thoroughfare between the hotel and Le Suquet (the charming old part of town) but there was an overpass that made the street easy to cross. The balcony was pleasant and we had a view of the old tower and an obscured view of the ocean. Staff was also friendly. Kind of like the rest of the hotel, the breakfast had more than the basics (cereal, scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit, coffee machine) without being fancy. Downside might be that it wasn't particularly charming or luxe, and that the narrow shape of the room sometimes made things a little tight for 2 people.

the rooms were very European, by that i mean small and older. However the staff was friendly and helpful and it felt decently clean

Lovely hotel, very clean, friendly staff and nice breakfast. Just a short walk from centre of Cannes. It is up a bit of a steep hill for anyone with problems walking, otherwise cannot fault this hotel. Excellant value and decent price.

average all aroundPosted Oct 18, 2011
Staff was helpful in finding the location which is a bit out of the way, just barely walking distance from City Hall, airport bus drop off. Typical European style no shower curtain, so a bit messy. Room is what you pay for, simple, clean, small. They allowed me to check in early, around 10am which was very nice of them.

Avoid this hotelPosted Jan 2, 2011
I was so angry with the quality fo this hotel i felt motivated to write my review the 2nd day of a 4 night stay. On arrival when i discovered i was to be placed in a room next to the reception and restaurant areas on New Year's Eve I immediately requested a room change. However, the receptionist felt the alternate room on the 3rd floor was too small and advised to stay with my current option as there would be alternate rooms available after Sunday, if need be. Regardless of the party which went on until after 2am the room was constantly noisy with either guests coming in and out of the hotel or restaurant, kitchen activity - preparing breakfast, coffees. washing stacking plates/glasses, dropping glasses - I HEARD IT ALL. I never got more than two hours sleep at stretch without some noise occuring. The English channels all had a reception problem. You got 35-40 seconds viewing then a 5-7 second error message then 35-40 secs.. and it went on like the whole time so you could never watch any news item uninterrupted. The floors were not carpeted and bare stone which was cold considering temperates outside were 11C. This meant you could not come into the room, take off your shoes and just relax! For a three star hotel i would have expected room service but alas nothing of the type except for hot drinks which i am sure when i get my bill are extortinate! A very sour evening manager who was approachable! This hotel is nothing like the pictures or previous reviews.

Very comfortable hotel! conveniently located to the many great shopping venues and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again...although the breakfast was pricey!
