Fancy expensive hotel

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Only the location in the heart of La Croisette and the staff
Cons: Rooms
Location: Everything, it is near all the action in La Croisette and the shopping area
We stayed for couple days to chill and relax. We thought the room would be "superior" but nothing superior about it, the city view is looking at old buildings and the air ducts on the roof, awful view. The staff were very professional and helpful. The hotel is too expensive, internet is highly chargeable, renting a bed at the beach costs a fortune, swimming pool only has beds for rent for another fortune and the pool size is too small, don't beleive the pictures, everything costs a fortune and you only pay for sleeping. The room we thought was superior but it was very small and TV was not working quite well, you see a lot of scratches on the room walls but the bathroom was really good, we didn't feel comfortable at the room. If you don't like swimming in cold water and you don't get a good room with sea view don't stay there. However, they gave us access to Sauna, Steam Room, and the small Gym for free, which was ok

One of the best five star hotels I've stayed in

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Beautiful hotel, very friendly helpful staff, beautiful private beach and three amazing restaurants. Everything does come at a cost, such as wifi and use of the private beach sunbeds, but it was an exceptional hotel. Glamorous events and many different areas to utilise.

Nice hotel, good location but expensive!

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Staff service was very good
Cons: Some of the rooms were a bit out-dated & in need to a re-furb. I would expect Wi-Fi to be complimentary
Location: Good location near the harbour, beach, shops and restaraunts
Initially given a room where we couldn't open one of the wardrobes, the TV didn't work and the shower ceiling had peeling paint. Was upgraded to a bigger room (staff were very understanding). This hotel is very expensive, and very little is complimentary which was very surprising. Breakfast is 40 Euros per person, WiFi is 15 euros per night and a beach lounger was 42 Euros for a day! - not even the hotel pool had free sun loungers - they were only marginally cheaper. 20 Euros for a beer also. So.. if you can afford a hotel with additional luxuries, then this is nice, but if you are wanting to pay more and get a better overall experience, this is not the place for you, as you are paying for the name here.

Luxury Hotel close to beach

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: The rooms were very clean and the bathroom accessories were very useful (e.g.. orange stick ).
Cons: More vegetarian options at meal times and better key system.
As 5 star hotels go this is one of the better ones. However, the credit card key system failed to work on the first day which meant going to reception to get a new one. The lifts are rather small so if there are more than 4 of you with luggage you will have to split up.

Nice hotel

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: good ambience and traditional
Cons: may be staff training in the reception
Location: sea front
we were given a small for two where a bed has to move on the other side to open wardrobe doors ..... window was facing a roof top with rubble and equipments.... when we phoned the reception to move our room we were told hotel is full and the put the phone down.... we were not taken round to our room where as other residents were taken around to the hotel and to there room by the staff.... i went down to the reception to complain about the room ... a gentleman was there and i explained to him he was polite and courteous as listened to me and check and he allocated to a bigger room and good view nearly sea front... my first impression is not good as we were not treated as good as others

An absolute nightmare of epic proportions

Posted Jun 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
This reservation was prepaid last year for the Cannes Lions festival. Four founding members of our company, including our CEO, were scheduled to stay here. When they arrived, the Majestic told them that they had larger hotel room blocks that added additional people last minute, so our reservation got bumped. Of course, the hotels in Cannes get booked a year in advance for this festival, so that left us with no place to stay. The hotel the Majestic found for us was a 40 minute drive from Cannes. This left us scrambling for accommodations last minute. Only one of our four members of the group found another reservation that was $22,000 for the week. Apparently what the Majestic did was in breach of their contract with Hotels.com. Do not EVER book this hotel unless you want to arrive in Cannes with no place to stay.
