Quaint shops and restaurants surround the historical square and the Greek Revival-style Madison County Courthouse sits at its center. Hundreds of vendors showcase their wares at the Canton Flea Market each May and October. Canton's own Elmore James performed at juke joints on Hickory Street or The Hollow as it was called when it was the social hub for the town's African American community.
