Not as advertised

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pictures on site are deceiving. Wallpaper peeling, mold on back of toilet and tub bars. The towels were discolored, room was musty. Office was unstaffed, had to go to 'sister property' across the street to use telephone, check-in/out. A major disappointment. When family attempted to contact, an answering machine said that the property was closed for the season !

We were not there much just to sleep but the place was nice and even thou you had to go across the street for the staff you could pick.up the phone if you had to and they were there to answer so it was a nice place to stay

Conveniently located to Port Hawkesbury

Posted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: No comment
Cons: Hotel needs updated. Young receptionist needs to learn how to smile! Breakfast needs someone in attendance to ensure food is available.
Location: Hotel is about 3 miles from the town of Port Hawkesbury. No way to walk in as the highway is too busy.
Check in process was easy if a little more expensive than we expected! Taxes were not included on the Expedia website and instead of paying CAN $107.99 as expected we had to pay CAN $126.70. Tkankfully the room was round the back because the hotel is situated on the busy highway. Breakfast was poor and had a very limited selection. Would not stay here again.

Great stop for Cabot Trail

Posted Aug 5, 2013
Spent the night while passing through after just completing the Cabot Trail, just outside of Baddeck was exactly what I would of wanted from a motor inn along the highway.

Convenient and inexpensive

nothing fancy , but clean and convenient for Cabot trail. Wifi , continental breakfast, very friendly people. Much better value for your dollar than the only girl in port Hawksbury!

Adequate but expensive.

Posted Jul 12, 2013
Pros: The room was clean and the bed was comfortable
Cons: Very worn and pricey for the value of services.
Location: Convenient location.
The motel was adequate, but old and rather expensive for the overall quality and services.
