“A Gem”

Gorgeous location. Keep in mind this is a rural area - if shopping etc is your thing, maybe not your spot.. Stayed for 3 nights in the Inn portion, which had newer rooms apparently than the main building. They were fine, larger than many with a nice view over the bay. Asked for a small fridge which arrived promptly. Played golf twice- saw a small bear nibbling plus small (?) moose on course. No wonder course rated best in Canada. Take a glass of wine from the lounge so you can sit over the bay .. and see if you can catch sight of whales cruising by....

“Great little vacation”

Stayed at Keltic Lodge 4 nights and the hotel was so nice that we stayed around the hotel and grounds, especially the pool which is a beautiful suntrap, for 2 of the days instead of taking the Cape Breton expeditions we'd planned. Will return, for sure.

“Can't wait to go back”

My husband and I had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the entertainment nightly relaxing in the sitting room and loved talking to various people from other parts of the world. The grounds to the hotel were beautiful to walk about. The staff of the hotel were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the surrounding areas of Cape Breton. This was truly a peaceful and relaxing vacation for us. Ingonish Beach is very close by and we went swimming everyday. We had a great time. We would like to visit again next summer.

“Exceeded expectations”

An excellent hotel, five-star meals, ours was a comfortable well equipped bedroom, lounge bar spacious and well furnished. Although the hotel was full during our stay a good speed and quality of service was maintained at meals by a largely student staff. Surroundings deligthtful, a fine heated outdoor pool.

“Wonderful logging; incredible vistas”

Keltic Lodge is a charming hotel. The food is very good, as is the service. The surrounding property and the drive along the Cabot Trail is breath taking.

“Great Cabot Trail Hotel”

This hotel/spa is located on the East side of the Cabot Trail, (great location for hiking - 7 beautiful trails were within a few minutes driving). Great food, great service, good pool, situated on a penninsula that looks out onto two separate coves, one full of whales. We plan to go back!

“Old world hotel sits on prime location on Cabot Trail.”

The view is stunning water on both sides and if your lucky you will see whales. The grounds are lovely, manicured gardens and hiking trails through the forest. The pool is very inviting. The grand room lounge was very comfortable with entertainment throughout the evening. The casual atmosphere allowed families to gather to play cards and listen to the music or have conversation with friends. The main diningroom serves later into the evening reservations required where as the bistro diningroom overlooking the water serves only until 8pm and is more suited for children. The hotel has rooms and cabins that are very spacious. Over all a fine hotel that must be experienced at least once.

“Keltic Blah!”

The setting is perfect, but the lodge might as well be a motel. Dingy rugs - room smelled mildly sour needs a major update! Not delivering value for price AT ALL!

“Not good value”

We spent 2 nights here while attending the Celtic Colours Music Festival due to its location close to a concert we were attending. This OLD resort Lodge requires upgrading of it rooms and beds / internet service to justify its high costs. The restaraunt bar and services staff were excellent but the rooms are too expensive for what what you get. Won't be returning. Disappointed -this was suppposed to be a high points of the trip but turned out not to be. The location and surroundings make up a good portion of the value but still came away wanting and can't recommend it at the costs involved.
