ALWAYS A PLEASURE!!!!Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Everything from the location to the staff to the accommodations.
Cons: Microwaves in the wet bar to reheat all the leftovers we accumulate!!
I simply love this guesthouse! I come to town often and while I occasionally stay elsewhere when the Benchmark is booked, I always return and wonder why I try anywhere else. The accommodations are spotless, housekeeping is pristine and the owners Dan and Daniel have made it a true oasis in Ptown!!! Most importantly, their manager Benji goes out of his way to make your stay as perfect as possible. He has made dinner reservations, activity recommendations and helped with various needs over the course of my stays. Such an asset and it makes coming to town so pleasant. Between easy access to town, free parking and views and fireplaces with each room. It's the ONLY place to stay!!!

We had a stormy weekend getaway to Provincetown at its quietest time of year (except for the howling wind) with a plan to hunker down, read books and relax, with periodic forays out for Wellfleet oysters and all the fresh seafood and Portuguese cuisine we could get. The third floor penthouse apartment was the perfect vantage point to watch the wild weather changes, with views of the fishing fleet in the harbor and Cape Cod bay beyond, as well as the village sights such as the Pilgrim Monument. When the weather outside was frightful, the gas fireplace was so delightful, as the song goes more or less. Benji, the manager, is a kind and gracious host who was able to guide us to good food, drink and shopping when many of the seasonal businesses were closed (a fact that may or may not be noted on their web pages). A little local insight effectively augments your internet research and can save you a cold walk with a disappointing end at a “See you in April!” sign on the front door of your destination. The continental breakfast was good and hearty. Swiss style: meat, cheese, bread & fruit, and excellent coffee. The Benchmark is on a quiet side street just a block off of Commercial Street and is well situated to walking the entire village. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location and hostPosted Sep 17, 2014
I was torn between 2 B & B's and chose this one because of a comment that the innkeeper was very helpful. Dan was fabulous and without him our bike ride would not have occurred. The INN is immaculate and well appointed. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and varied. The outdoor area charming. The bedding and bathroom towels were high quality. However, you must understand like most B & B's, the rooms are very compact but efficient. You are within walking distance of everything.Highly recommend

Perfect Place to Stay!Posted Jul 24, 2014
Very embarrassed to have waited this long to review the Benchmark Inn. We stayed there during Memorial Day weekend and found it perfect! The owners of the Inn go above and beyond and are friendly and knowledgeable about Provincetown. One example of their special touch includes an afternoon we spent on the patio of the Benchmark Inn which has tables, recliners and gorgeous plants. We bought some strawberries and wine and were asked if we would like sugar for our strawberries! Once we checked out, we continued to walk around Provincetown and explore because our ferry didn't leave until later in the evening. Upon hearing that was our plan for the day, the owners volunteered to drive our luggage to the ferry and hand it to us before we left. They were there before us and everything went smoothly. The Inn itself is very tastefully decorated and comfortable. You can't choose a better place to stay than here!

Great location, friendly owners, wonderful B&BPosted Jul 2, 2014
This is a great place to stay. The location is just far enough from the main street to be quiet and peaceful, yet is only half a block from the bustling Commercial st. The rooms are comfortable, the service is great, what more can I say...we had a great time.
