We have been travelling around Boston and the Cape and this hotel and area was by far the best experience, the Benchmark was fantastic, in the right location, with wonderful owners who couldn't do enough for you cant recommend this lovely Inn highly enough.

Best place to stay in Pea TownPosted May 18, 2014
Pros: Everything the location is great, no its not on the water, but you have a great view of it. You can walk to anywhere in town no need for a car.
Cons: I will not say it needs improving it is what it is. The parking is tight, but you leave your keys and you walk, no worries.
Location: Your in the center, you can do anything! The location is perfect!!
The Innkeepers are exceptional as hosts and as people. The place is super clean, they think of everything for you and it is in your room. Everything is tastefully done, from the decor of the house to the details in the bathrooms. Breakfast was simple yet elegant!

Romantic spot in the heart of PtownPosted Jan 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed our time at the Benchmark. Our room opened to a rooftop deck with amazing views of town, monument and water. Service was great and it was a perfect location. Downside was the wifi seemed dropped a lot. We had work to do while there & we had to re-sign in to accounts. We didn't report it while we were there though.

An elegant surprisePosted Dec 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
A luxurious room with every want anticipated and attention to detail that us rare. Pleasant reception and parking off street were appreciated . Bed was very posh and decor was tasteful and intimate. Sheets and pillows if the best quality. The fireplace added warmth and atmosphere . Nice touches with a Keurig coffee maker and nice glasses and cups. Definitely would rebook.

Cute 100 year old house and good service. PROS- extremely clean didn't find a hair anywhere and trust me I always look over everything first. Good location just walk 50 feet and you are on the main street commercial street. Romantic with the jetted tub and fire place. Everything looked brand new including the sheets not a single mark on it anywhere. Loved the pillows. They have a DVD player in your room and you have Dvd's, books, and games to chose from at anytime as well. Close to everything. I loved my view from the window. I felt very safe here. CONS- parking is almost impossible and we got there very early and in the off season. You have to climb very steep stairs to get to your room (not a problem for us, but if you are very old and have issues with stairs not for you). Can't just pull up to the front to unload your luggage since you are on the one way very narrow street. So it takes forever to get your luggage from your car up the street to the hotel. (The whole town is tiny like this, so parking is going to be hard everywhere you go.) My husband didn't like the bed, but I did. It was a bit noisy having people above us and everyone walking up and down the stairs. I would stay here again. PS Practically the whole town closes down from Dec1 - April, so all the tourist stuff, gee everything you would come here to see and do will be closed. I liked this BB and would stay here again, but never in the high season too crowded.

The most pleasant stay everPosted Nov 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Benchmark Inn is a place of absolute kindness and personal service. The Swiss hosts are wonderful people, who take the time to help you out with anything. Breakfast is homemade (!) and served leisurely between 8 and 11, the rooms have a fireplace and the area is just wonderful - not right in the middle of the city center, where it can get noisy, but right next to it. I give this place my highest recommendations. Thank you, Dan and Daniel.
