“Beautiful, Quaint, Stunning!”
Gorgeous hotel and property. Nice views, beautiful rooms, gorgeous spa! Loved everything about it. Hope to return again! Maybe sometime in the summer - was quiet this time of year - imagine summertime is lots of fun and more to do. A quick walk to shops, restaurants. Also the hotel will take you anywhere and pick you up as well. Would also be a BEAUTIFUL place for a nice wedding!
“Nice hotel”
We very much liked the hotel lobby and the restaurants. My only complaint is the horrible decor of the rooms. We actually changed rooms to a suite in the main building and it was still incredibly ugly. The furniture is outdated and unattractive. It's too bad, because it wouldn't take much to make them lovely.
“Liked it a lot.”
We liked the hotel a lot. The room was big, which was definitely the best part. I wish the parking were better. The workers don't have their own lot, so they take up a lot of space. It was hard to find a space sometimes. Once, one of the staff blocked us in while they went to get a uniform, which was near our building. Other than that, it was great. Also, you need to put a card on your bed if you want your bed linens changed, otherwise they only do it once in a while.
“Fabulous experience”
Close to the beach, gorgeous grounds, wonderful view from our room, attentive staff, welcome amenities in the room. Wow, a great resort. Definitely lived up to its reputation.
“Chatam Bars Inn”
This is a great place, no doubt about it, & quite reasonable during the off season. Wish I could afford during high season. The cheapest rooms are extremely comfortable, the mattresses first rate, the TV easy to use, plenty of closet space, etc. Never eaten dinner there, but breakfast & lunch are first rate. And the service is fantastic.
“Best on the Cape”
You cant get better- from the activities (take the nature hike!) to the amenities- truly one of the best in the world!
“Very Impressive!!!”
Wonderful room, fantastic setting , and everyone was very helpful! It was close to the downtown and shops .We could not have been happier there! We would love to stay there again!
“AMAZING, absolutely perfect experience!”
This was such an amazing place to stay! We researched a lot of the other resorts and B&Bs in the area, and this one came far away the best, and we couldn't have been more pleased! The beach is beautiful, the pool area is amazing (great for adults and kids, and you can see the beach and ocean from your chair, without the sand), and the room was amazing! We stayed in one of the beach view villas, and we loved having a little deck to sit out on and watch the boats come in at night. We had such an amazing time, and everyone was so helpful. I highly recommend!
“A little tough with a 2-year old”
The hotel is a great place to come with kids; there are plenty of activities but they are restricted to children 4-years and older. While we were certainly able to enjoy the beach and pool with our toddler, the lack of organized activities for him meant no "adult" time for us. We would have used the babysitting service recommended by the hotel but their prices ($30/hour) and terms were very, very high (we pay much less at 5-star hotels in Manhattan and London). The room was comfortable but there were a few things that did not work propoerly, including the room service menu that is only accessible through the TV. The hotel did a good job of rapidly installing a chain lock on our door because our son could easily unlock and open the door (one would think this would be a frequent request with all the young children at the resort- and these should be standard in all rooms.) The F&B options were also limited with a young child; the clambake held nightly M-F was great but its the same menu every night and is over $70 per person.
“Highly recommended but...”
...pool is too small and overcrowded for a hotel in this class. We overheard swimming off the beach not recommended due current/tide. Service in The Beach Grill was too slow on first night and the explanation (half the kitchen ranges had suffered power loss) given too late, no mitigation (eg, complimentary drinks, food) offered. Warm white wine and inadequately defrosted profiteroles served in The Grill. Unsurprisingly high mark up on the wine compared to other places in Chatham. No place to sit outside the otherwise excellent room of the cottage we stayed in (Seamist). Overall staff were friendly and helpful with one or two exceptions. Gym is small (get there early) but reasonably equipped. Excellent nature walk available on Sat and Sun led by a professional ranger (Eric, who is passionate about the shore and a poet!). Frequent free trolley bus service available into Chatham and elsewhere. Excellent base, centrally located to see Cape Code, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Overall highly recommended if you have the budget.
