Anniversary getawayPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Most everything
Cons: Layout of the bedroom. The TV was not in a good position for both people in the bed to watch.
Location: A nice beach is nearby, and there are many activities to do on the Bass River.
Went to Cape Cod for a single night getaway for our anniverary. Picked Captain Farris House because it was price competitive with hotels and it was highly regarded by guests. This place did not disappoint. Our room was very comfotable with a large living room, a queen size bedroom with a very comfortable mattress, and a large bathroom with whirlpool tub. The staff was very courteous and helpful, including making reservations for us for our anniversary dinner. Breakfast was outstanding, which at this place, did not surprise us. Highly recommend this B&B for anyone traveling to the Cape.

Pros: Very clean, good location, Cheryl is a really good cook. Food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful.
Cons: The coffee is very weak. Like drinking hot water. The last day we walked across the street to the Duncan donuts at the gas station, to get coffee. I
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Easy to get to everything on the cape. Beaches close by.

Lovely inn with helpful staff. Great breakfasts. Liked the fact that many rooms were on the first floor.

wonderful experience of hospitalityPosted Nov 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was a wonderful experience to stray at Captain Farris. Everything was thought of even cookies on arrival and left out for supper most days. DVD's to watch at night - cold drinks as well as coffee and tea on tap. Chocolates placed in your room on arrival and Jan's breakfast was to die for. She really is an great manager. Thank you for New England hospitality at its best.

Comments of our stay.Posted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: The Captain Farris house and the gardens takes you back in time. I can just imagine the way it was when Captain Farris and his family lived in it.
Cons: I would suggest some walkway lights for the walk from the back parking area to the front door. We arrived after dark.
Location: We had one full day and visited Hyannis. Everyone, from the Kennedy museum to all the shops were friendly and helpful.
We had a great experience from the moment we arrived to our departure. The room was both beautiful and comfrtable. Breakfast was delicious. The hosts were very informative and helped us get the most out of our brief visit to Cape Cod. We would recommend the Captain Farris house to anyone. Should we ever return we hope there is a room available.

Cape Cod's secret treasure!Posted Oct 30, 2013
Our overall experience at Captain Farris House was fantastic. We had a massive room on the ground floor which was perfect given how many bags we had. The room was massive, king bed was plush and the freshly baked cookies in the afternoon were a real treat! The home style cooked breakfasts were delicious too! We would definitely stay here again!

Quaint Cape Cod B and BPosted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: We loved the bedroom and bathroom, the amenities, the food and the staff, the quietness of the B and B.
Cons: The snack and cafe tables were literally outside our bedroom door which left us very uncomfortable. Some rooms are not suited for the elderly
Location: This B and B is in South Yarmouth on Cape Cod, easy to get to many of the sights on Cape Cod.
Our bedroom was large, comfortable with lovely furniture. The bathroom likewise was large with a large jacuzzi bathtub/shower. Our room looked onto the garden. It was quiet and relaxing. While this was a beautiful room, had we been elderly, this room would have had safety issues. As the house was old, the wood floors were uneven in several places. The jacuzzi bathtub was very deep and an elderly person would have been taking their lives in their hands getting in and out of the tub. The breakfasts were fabulous. The ladies who cooked did a marvelous job. There was plenty of delicious hot food: homemade warm muffins, sausage, quiche, fruit, french toast, yogurt parfait, hot chocolate, juices all served at your table in a pretty dinning room. There was also fresh cookies and fruit in the afternoon, along with coffee, tea and soft drinks. The table with the snacks was literally outside one of our bedroom doors. That made us a bit uncomfortable-we felt our privacy was invaded. O

Quiet, warm and cozy innPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Full breakfast each morning. Cozy room décor. Helpful and welcoming innkeeper and staff.
We were very happy with this inn. There were many nice touches that made the stay very welcoming. They served a full breakfast each morning. The innkeeper was very helpful in telling us about restaurant recommendations and other activities in area. We would recommend this to our friends.

Excellent Stay in BBPosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Having stayed at other BB's with dismal service, so so breakfast and old room smells, I was very hesitant staying at another BB. The Captain Farris House was OUTSTANDING! I want to give a big SHOUT OUT for Linda and Howard the keepers of the Captain Farris House. Their suggestions were fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast every morning. We look forward to staying there whenever in the Cape.
