“Hotel Has BED BUGS!!!!”
Made a reservation to stay near Hyannis, went on Expedia and the Tidewater Hotel came up, so I booked it. Everything was ok, we went swimming came back just to sleep. When we got up in the morning I noticed blood on the sheets. My wife and I checked ourselves and didn't see any signs of blood on our bodies. I advised the owner when I checked out that there was blood on the sheets and I didn't think it came from us, but she should double check what her staff was putting out. I asked her to check the room because I suspected may it was bed begs. She called me an hour later and confirmed there were bed bugs in the bed we were sleeping on. My wife woke up a day later with bites all over her arms and neck that still haven't gone away. This is very distressing and its taken a psychological toll on my whole family. The Inn refunded my money and offered to for any cleaning or replacements of any luggage. The owner was very nice, but the suffering my wife has gone through has been painful. I am still very disappointed and this should be reported to someone, so that other guests don't get Bed Bugs.
“good motel”
Looking forward to our next visit to Cape Cod and we definately will be staying at the Tidewater Mote.
“would stay again”
price was right, staff was friendly and helpful. Worth it. One issue. First floor rooms can hear a bit too much noise from upstairs.
“will not return”
We have stayed at this motel for years. It just doesn't seem to have the same sparkle. Tired, worn and smelly. The beds and pillows were so uncomfortable, both myself and my partner had a very hard time sleeping. The guests next to us were noisy and appeared to be living there. Just creepy.
“Niceperks~pools,breakfast joint”
Pleasantly surprised to find the amenities, including hot tub in indoor pool area, breakfast restaurant (most important meal of day), and outdoor seeting area next to room. Room a little moldy smelling from humid weather, but otherwise very comfortable.
“Just what we needed!”
The Tidewater Inn is very conveniently located for easy access to many areas of interest in the Mid-Cape. It is on busy Rt 28, but the Inn occupies several acreas so you can enjoy peace and quiet once on the property. There are indoor and ourdoor pools, a hot tub, lawns with picnic tables and chairs, swing sets and a peaceful outlook over a pond. The 50's style onsite diner is open from 7 AM and you get a delightful menu and good breakfast from friendly staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable but some might want more updated bathroom fixtures. The walls are thin and we were fortunate to have quiet neighbors- but you can hear the TV and voices in the next room. Wi-fi is weak- I would lose signal frequently. Even the lobby computer did not work well. Charlie was the nicest front desk manager and available to make our stay pleasant. We would stay there again. Good value for the money.
“Basic hotel, pool and hot tub were clean”
Pretty basic hotel, nothing fancy, but it was cheap. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean. My room had an outdoor balcony that ran the whole length of the building which seemed a little weird that someone could be right outside your slider door. I did not have a problem and it would probably be a good feature if you were with a large group with mutiple rooms. I would probably go back, unless I could find a nicer place for a bit more money.
“Not Impressed”
Poor bathroom condition. Dark Dingy shower area - smelly curtains.
“Nice, but could use alittle updating”
First I want to say that the hotel staff were great. The pool was very clean and well maintained. the exterior was clean and attractive as well. The room was clean, however the beds were hard as a rock and the pillows were feather and thin. The air conditioner was musty and loud. The bathroom was very clean, and all facilities worked well, plenty of hot water. The bedspreads were heavy and looked like they could be updated, they looked 70's style. One blanket was stained with what looked like shoe polish. Location was handy to lots of things to do.
“A gem among many good motels in one of the busiest sections of Route 28”
This is not the most modern or attractive motel in the area, but we found it to be exceptionally clean, neatly maintained, and the rates very reasonable It has all of the amenities, a nice playground and picnic area and is very convenient to Hyannis and the central cape. The breakfast restaurant is also tops on our rating scale.
