“Won't Stay Anywhere Else”
Unbelieveable location, amazingly comfortable and clean room and terrific restaurants at the best hotel in a one-of-a-kind Town. If you're worried about missing out on some of the history or charm of Cape May by not staying at a bed n' breakfast, fear not. Congress Hall has all the old charm and history with a high class feeling. My wife and I won't stay anywhere else now!
“Best stay in Cape May”
We have stayed many places both here and abroad of this proported caliber and they lived up to every boast. The staff was excellent and the overall facility was as advertised and more. The amenities are great and the restaurants and bars in the hotel are excellent. I have stayed at many Inns in Cape May and this was the most enjoyable and does not stray from the overall feeling of Victorian atmosphere. The rest are great but this is the best. I have also recommended to others who have stayed recently and have come back to thank me. I will not hesitate for next year.
“Great location and great "old hotel"”
we stayed two nights. We were impressed with the service. Free valet while we were there. Enjoyed being close to ocean ans shopping. Did not eat there, but bar was enjoyable. Our room was small but ok for two of us. It was very clean. We loved the romance of the Old hotel. Everyone working in the hotel were very friendly. The grounds were very beautiful and enjoyed the view and sound of the ocean.
“Best Place in Cape May”
Will never stay anywhere else in Cape May. I've stayed all over Cape May & this by far, is the best place ever. Clean, comfortable, convenient to everything. Service was great. Love the Adult Pool ! Go, Stay, you won't be disappointed.....
“Very good but overpriced”
I booked this hotel following my friend's lead, but I'm not sure it was the best value for the money. I haven't explored other hotels on the same Beach avenue, but from the outside they look decent and provide similar beach services as Congress Hall. Overall our stay was very pleasant, the only issue I had was the absence of "do not disturb" sign in the room. So once we were in the room during afternoon nap, housekeeping knocked on every door just to distribute invitations to friday party. That was very disturbing, they could have just placed the card under the door.
“Congress Hall above and beyond my expectation”
The hotel is considered as antique to me but it was kept in a very nice condition. The service was excellent and the food was great. The comfort of the bed made us stayed longer in the morning and the decoration was classy all around. The room size is perfect for a get away and the bathroom is a WOW for us with a big old-fashioned tub. The location is perfect right in the middle of all attraction and staff are friendly and eager to serve you. The pricing is reasonable and the hotel didn't set up non-sense charge for internet or parking. I will recommend Congress Hall to any of my friends and family.
“A Place with Character and Charm!”
Congress Hall is an historic hotel with so much character and charm. The room was very comfortable and the staff was very attentive. The Brown Room was a great place to finish our night.
“already planning my next stay at this hotel”
the hotel was nicely appointed and made us feel very comfortable. the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.
“Elegant Cape May Experience”
lovely and classy hotel with warm and friendly service. The large rooms, lobby and restaurants / bars are airy and beautifully lit and harken back to a pre Victorian era of elegant lines and space. Interior shops are great and grabbing an early morning coffee and muffin from Tommy's Folly is delicious and convenient. Can't wait to return!
“Looking forward to their "Blizzard of 2010 Reunion" that is being planned for next year at this tim”
This was a WONDERFUL experience in VERY trying circumstances for the hotel. A BLIZZARD hit this southern most tip of New Jersey on Friday night. All electricity in the hotel was lost...meaning the heat was gone too. (All electricity in Cape May county was lost!!!) The roads were closed so we could not leave the city of Cape May. The hotel had lights only in the hallways and lobby (powered from their generator). The kitchen was gas so they cooked up FREE breakfast buffets both Sat and Sun and provided meals at good prices for lunch and dinner. The manager was on hand and worked hard to make things as pleasant as possible. Staff (many of whom had to stay over in the hotel) were eager to help and make a terrible situation enjoyable. Fire places burned brightly until the snow covered the chimneys. Even then a festive atmosphere was present in the hotel. A rousing games of bingo were enjoyed as well as hot coffee and tea set out to help keep us warm. Bed were fitted with wonderful comforters so once in bed we were toastly warm. The hotel gave a special rate (without our asking) for those of us that had to stay beyond our planned time of departure. NO ONE traveled in or out of Cape May on Saturday our expected day of departure. Would I want that kind of time again? Probably not, but Congress Hall manger and staff made the Blizzard of 2010 in Cape May,NJ a time to fondly remember.
