“great deal in Cape May”

The hotel is located across fron the beach and is still close to town. The place is priced right and is clean.

“Wonderful place to stay!”

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for getting to area attractions or just stro;;ing on the beach. Be sure to take in Cape May Point State Park.

“Just right”

I read some reviews, and I think some people are just picky. Yes, they have actual keys and not key cards - big deal. I don't go to Cape May for the hotel rooms. Our rooms were very clean, we had great side Ocean views, loved the alcove idea so my kids and I had privacy between our two rooms. My only complaint was the pillows were too thick! Lol, only one pillow in one of the rooms was "normal sized"; the rest were too thick to sleep on comfortably. We had everything we needed in our kitchenette (except coffee filters); we had a great, affordable stay (off season) and I would return here again!

“Nice Ocean front hotel”

Beautiful room, nice shared balcony on the street side. Ocean view from an angle, but you could hear the waves crashing at high tide. We love Cape May, been there numerous times, first time at this hotel. Definitely would go back. Next time I will get an ocean front room for more privacy on the balcony which we enjoyed immensely. Very clean and decorated in a Queen Anne style, befitting the Victorian nature of the town. Can't wait to get back "On the way to Cape May"...

“Dated but clean and friendly!”

Rooms were quite dated (stucco walls, popcorn ceiling, small old TV), but the room we stayed in was quite spacious, bathroom was HUGE, everything very clean. You know how sometimes older hotels have that musty smell? Not here - fresh and clean. A little noisy, but nothing that kept us up. They do allow pets in this hotel, which my kids loved. Barking didn't really seem to be a problem. Balcony was a nice surprise- staff was super friendly and helpful. A little off the beaten path, but nothing terribly out of the way. One warning - if you have an SUV, a car or SUV with bikes on a bike rack, or a larger car with a luggage carrier on top, the onsite parking could be a challenge. We have SUV w/racks on it (but not a carrier) - my rear hatch touched the ceiling when it was open! Street parking is possible in the area.

“Expectations too high, I guess.”

There were dogs in several rooms on my floor (which was supposedly a "no-pets-allowed" floor). The dogs barked incessantly because they were left alone in the rooms (I believe). I complained to the hotel desk attendant, and she said she'd have someone call me about it, but I haven't heard from anyone yet (it's been 10 days). I only stayed 2 nights, and started hearing the dogs the morning after my first night there. I notified the hotel after listening to the barking during that day, and there was no barking the second night or the next morning, however, there were guests walking their dogs on leashes around on the same floor where my room was located. Seems they have a difficult time enforcing their rules. Also, parking is very limited, and you are not guaranteed a spot. We weren't told of this ahead of time, and when we inquired as to what our other options were, the attendant pointed out that some of the hotels in Cape May don't have parking at all (???). For the rate I paid, my expectations were much higher. I guess if my pillow hadn't been thicker on one side than it was on the other, I may have been a little less grumpy about it.

“Horrible hotel”

I chose this hotel only because this was the only hotel which accepts pets and available at the time. The ocean from location is not too bad, but the hotel itself needs renovation. They still use keys instead of card keys for each room! We had to switch total 3 rooms before they finally put us in a "ocean front view" room for no extra charge. They call this room "ocean front" but it's not face to the ocean. It has the small ocean view from the balcony. I refused to take the first room that they gave us because the door was unlocked when we arrived there and the lock of the balcony door was completely broken. The second room that they gave us was not cleaned up yet, and the twin size bed in the third room was too tiny for me and my daughter (10 years old) to sleep. The room that we finally settled down after about an hour from our arrival time to the hotel has the strong smell of dog urine most of the time. Our dog is well trained and he hardly ever has accident, so I suspected that the carpet in the room has not been cleaned appropriately. My daughter and I had a such a great time at the beach, but we were very dissapointed with this hotel.
