Exceeded ExpectationsPosted Jul 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
It is important to have the proper perspective when staying at a beachfront motel. The location certainly drives the price more than other factors. The Roman Holiday is a motel built in the 1960's. The condition is above average for a motel of this age. Our room was very clean and reasonably appointed. The bed was comfortable, not the best I've slept on to be sure, but very good in relation to other motels I've been in that would be comparable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There is a obvious effort to make sure their customers are happy and that the pool area is safe for kids. This is not a party motel, but one that caters to a family environment. The location is approximately 3 blocks from the end of the boardwalk. This is close enough to walk and catch the tramcar to the piers, but also far enough to not get the boardwalk noise. It is approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the piers on the boardwalk if you don't take the tram. The beach across the street is a nice stretch of beach. If you aren't expecting a brand new motel in perfect condition I think you will be happy with the choice. We were here for the Beach Blast Soccer Tournament and after speaking with people staying at other motel/hotels I think this would certainly be above average compared to most of the others in the area at a similar price-point.

Hotel is close to everything.Posted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Close proximity to everything.
Cons: Needs curtains over the blinds.
Location: Close to everything. Lots to do without driving.
If you are looking for a five star hotel this place is not for you. For a family on budget this place is perfect. It has a nice heated pool, the rooms have kitchenettes wich saves a lot of money on eating out every night. It is right across the street from the beach and walking distance to the board walk. There is a lot to do with out having to drive anywhere. The only complaint we have is there are no curtains over the blinds in the room. Alot of sunlight comes in in the morning. NEEDS CURTAINS!! No complains other wise.

The Gem of Wildwood: Roman HolidayPosted Jun 3, 2013
Pros: I love how super clean this little piece of Heaven is!
Cons: That it's a two hour ride away or I would be here every week!
Location: Easy to find, safe for the kids, off the beaten path but so so close to everything!
I feel madly in love with The Roman Holiday Motel in Wildwood, N.J. this past weekend! Clean, quiet, sweet, five minute walk from the beach, warm, clean pool, excellent, NICE staff, perfect location, six blocks from the boardwalk. What more could you ask for? I used to own my own cleaning service and saw only CLEAN everywhere I looked. The kitchen, fully stocked, was wonderful. It saved us so much money to be able to bring fun foods such as spaghetti Ohs and hot dogs along and be able to make them fast. I could have also created a gourmet meal if I wanted, it was that stocked! The a/c was great and the one unit cooled the entire unit down nicely. We brought our son, Rob, and his son, Eli, almost 4 along and they had a WONDERFUL time! We took them on a cruise to the Bahamas in Dec and I think they had just as much fun at the Roman Holiday, which is a HUGE compliment! They practically lived in the pool. My only one complaint: our bed (the one on the right in the photos) was a little bit lumpy when two of use slept in it. One would roll and the other felt it all. Alone it was perfectly fine. The beach was so quiet and peaceful at 5:30 when I got there for sunrise. It took me five minutes to walk to water's edge from my room door, which is amazing in itself! The room was so sound proof that I heard nothing after ten p.m. inside the room or out of the window, so rare in a hotel! I loved it here and can't wait to go back, this time for a week!

Very nice place to stay.Posted Oct 9, 2012 on Hotels.com
The Roman Holiday was a great place to stay. My son and I were at the shore for a soccer tournament being held in Cape May, and the location was perfect. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. I would recommend the Roman Holiday highly.
