Very nice place to stay.

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: The location and setup of the room. Very cozy.
Cons: The couch. It was faded.
Location: Right next to Congress Hall and because it is part of Congress Hall, we were able to use its facilities as well (pool, outdoor showers, parking, etc).
Great location right in the heart of downtown. The room appeared to be modern, but of course some of the furniture was faded (the couch in particular). Bed was clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was nice to have. Definitely would return.

Great vacation spot

Pros: Space, cleanliness, comfort, details like the swinging bench in front, and the picnic table in the backyard (oh yea it had a backyard).
Cons: Better hours/access to front desk. Also didn't know there was a pool across the street we could've accessed until we were leaving.
Location: Beach, bars, restaurants, bike rentals,
Close to the beach, perfect for a quick mid week getaway.

perfect last minute getaway

The Star Inn was my second choice when I was looking for accommodations for the last night of Cape May's Exit Zero Jazz Festival. It will now be my first choice for any future stay I Cape May! The room, more like a suite, was compact but nicely appointed. We stayed on the ground floor where all the rooms had charming little garden patios. The king size bed was very comfy! The location was perfectly central to great little shops and restaurants, as well as to the beach just a block away. You could see the ocean from the front porch outside of the charming reception area. It is one of the sister properties to the venerable Congress Hall Hotel which is right across the street: you could avail yourself of the amenities offered by Congress Hall (which is quite lovely itself) but we didn't get to do that too much because of our brief stay. Next time!

Cape May weekend!

Comfortable accom next to the Congress Hall. Was able to use Congress Hall facilities as the 2 properties are co-owned by the same group. Great location off the Mall and next to the beach. Staff at Blue Pig restaurant were pleasant and friendly and good food on offer.

Nice hotel, needs a tune up.

Pros: Good light, pleasant staff, well located.
Cons: Fix the toilet, please.
Location: Beach, biking, food.
Lights in bathroom blew out on arrival, but staff quickly fixed fuse. Flush handle on toilet fell off every time we flushed. It became a running joke. You can hear EVERYTHING in hall. If a mouse sneezed out there, you would hear it. Overall acceptable but quirky.

cute

Our room had a little kitchenette, and it was perfect. I could have lived there for a while! I had a couple of problems, bed had some broken bits, and my doorknob fell off! But the staff could not have been better, and fixed things right away, and really, isn't that what you want in the end? It's an older hotel, and I like going to places that have a little history. I would definitely go there again, or to any of the hotels that this company owns. Your also across the street from Congress hall, so you can enjoy all the amenities.

Great Intro to B&B Experience

Posted Mar 30, 2014
The Star Inn was perfect for a long-weekend getaway. We stayed in the main guest-house (rooms 1-8) which, for us was a great segue to B&Bs. It has all the charm but it's not actually in someone's house as you check in at Congress Hall. It was a great way to have the amenities of Congress Hall but your own secluded place to chill. I would highly recommend the Star Inn...I honestly feel you can't beat the value.
