“A Gem in Central Cape Town”

I stayed at this hotel the week it opened. It is in a convenient central location (the Company's Garden's are a block away, the Long Street area is a 5 minute walk, the Waterfront is a short drive or cab ride (30 minutes walk)) that is pedestrian friendly during the day. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the staff goes out of its way to make you feel like family (it is a family run business). Central Cape Town is in the process of being redeveloped, and the Cape Diamond is a delightful addition to the process.

“Great stay!”

We had a great stay. The staff were very professional. The rooms were really clean and comfortable. We had a slight problem with our first room, in that it was really hot (they really should consider putting AC in that room), but the staff moved us to another room right after we mentioned it.

“Cape Diamond - convenient location and impressive service”

Very good location, close to parliament buildings and Cape Town gardens. Very friendly and willing staff. Special thanks to Angeline, Roxanne and Sean for your attentiveness. Comfortable bedroom with street view balcony. Easy access to parking across the road from hotel.

“I will be back!!!”

The only complaint about the hotel is that they charged $35 USD to have an extra guest stay overnight and did not notify me prior to having my friends that I had met prior to this trip come and stay with me. Other than this when I was moved to a two bedroom room with more space and the included breakfast I believe the cost and quality was sufficient.

“great value, location, staff, experience!”

The staff and the good value per night of this hotel is what makes it special. The location is also great, as it allows you to get to many sight-seeing places within a short distance by foot. V&A Waterfront is 30 minutes, and everything else is about 10 minutes or less away. At night, the surrounding area is a little dodgy, but that's the whole of Cape Town, not just the area by the hotel. The staff members are superb and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and "at home." The breakfast is very adequate and quite good, although if there are groups staying in the hotel, be sure to get to breakfast before they eat everything in sight. The only downside of the hotel is that the walls between the rooms are paper thin, so if you have a noisy neighbor, be forewarned that you will hear everything. BUT, having said that, the front desk was quick to respond when I called regarding parties going on with a group next door. The rooms are nicely appointed and are simple, yet welcoming and fresh. If you go up to the 9th floor, you can gain access to a rooftop deck, which is a very nice spot to read, write, eat, relax, etc. Overall, GREAT value for the money, GREAT location, GREAT staff, GREAT experience. I would stay there again if I return.

“Best hotel in Cape Town for the lowest price”

Rooms are clean and OK. Nice bathroom with beautiful tile colors of the shower. 3 internet cafes are only max 50m from the hotel. Parking garage available for 65 Rand/day with 24/7 access using Hotel key. Near Long street where you have all the bars & restaurants. 10min from the Tabel Mountain cable car station and Signal point. After 6 days in Cape Town in this hotel I would go back to this one the next time I am there.

“Great stay”

Simple but clean and adequate accommodations, excellent hot breakfast. Located in Center City which is convenient but a touch seedy after dark. Hotel staff was VERY friendly and helpful in providing advice about local attractions and with reservations and taxi service. Internet service available in room for purchase. Would definitely stay here again!

“Cape Diamond”

Great hotel. The location is good, probably better for business travel, since it is in center city. However, for pure pleasure I may try a place at the waterfront next time. Other than that, great hotel, location seemed safe, and excellent service.
