Highly recommendedPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: Loved the tastefully decorated rooms, study and lounge area.
Cons: Only a guaranteed reservation next time we are in Cape Town! The hotel and it's staff fall short on nothing!
Location: Located very close to Green Market Square. A short walk to the great cafes and restaurants on Long Street. Extremely well located!
Our stay was wonderful from the start to the finish. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, rooms all uniquely tastefully decorated - and the Staff just went out of their way for us at every level. We stayed for 10 nights, had a Luxury Room which developed a small leak in the toilet - staff insisted we move to another room. We were happy to stay in our current room as we really loved it, but they took us to the next one and it was a two bedroom so offered more space for our daughter - so we made the move. The staff made the most excellent restaurant recommendations and bookings for us. We were just so so very sad to leave, we became attached to the lovely staff and the hotel. Would definitely go back there and would highly recommend to anybody contemplating a trip to Cape Town. The hotel is also very well located. Can't rate it with enough stars it was so wonderful. Thank you

Great hotel in central locationPosted Aug 30, 2013
The room was absolutely beautiful as well as the rest of the hotel. I typically hate staying in hotels, but the warmth of this space and the size gave it a real home and vintage feeling. In addition, I was able to walk to many places from this location which is always ideal. I was traveling alone and felt completely safe in and around the hotel area. Great choice to make...

Charming boutique hotel in the City CenterPosted Jun 17, 2013
Pros: The superior service, friendly staff, African decorations throughout, elegant and comfortable rooms, complimentary breakfast, extra touches.
Cons: Warn guests in advance that a weekend stay may be noisy due to the music in the square and to use taxis at night..
Location: Convenient for tourists and business visitors. The South African Museum, Slave lodge, Company Gardens, and Green Market Square in walking distance.
On our arrival at 10:00 a.m., four hours prior to official check-in, the staff greeted us warmly, offered us coffee or tea on a white linen-covered tray in the lounge, and assured us that our room would be ready in a few minutes. The room was up two flights of stairs, but the porter carried our bags. Our room had a king-sized, comfortable bed, big-screen TV, elegant bathtub, and modern rain-style shower. The complimentary toiletries, bath salts, giant cookie, and bottled water were a wonderful touch! The staff made reservations for us at a great restaurant in the square and were attentive throughout our stay. The continental breakfast was delicious. The only drawbacks were that on weekends there are bands playing in the square, so it's a little noisy until after midnight, and it's not safe to walk around city center at night. Taxis are readily available, however, and the reception staff will arrange one at any time. The hotel itself is secure, and it's an exciting, interesting area during the day, with an easy walk to several historical sites. We would visit again any time.

Great Boutique HotelPosted Mar 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great boutique hotel with a real african feel. Good location with a short walk from Green Market Square and Long Street. The V&A is a pleasant 20 minute walk away. Table Mountain is a 20 minute ride in a taxi away. Staff are friendly and attentive. We stayed for two nights in one of the luxury rooms and loved the attention to detail. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Great breakfast for all tastes.

Boutique African chic, period charm, great staff!Posted Oct 3, 2012
Pros: Wonderful decor, great room, excellent friendly staff, superb breakfasts and roof top jacuzzi.
Location: Great central location within walking distance of museums and other attractions, including Long Street.
Fabulous boutique hotel in a great central location, tasteful restoration with an ecletic mix of period features with African chic. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, and the breakfasts in the small breakfast room or on warmer days the courtyard were wonderful, with great fresh fruit and superb omelettes. Each room is individually decorated and our suite was large and beautifully appointed, with a balcony overlooking the internal courtyard. We also enjoyed the rooftop jacuzzi with views over central Cape Town skyline to Table Mountain. Defintely worth a visit if you want to experience a hotel with character and charm.

we loved this hotel in capetownPosted Jul 8, 2012
Pros: nice staff, nice rooms, beautiful shower and bathrooms, great breakfast.
Cons: have to take a cab home at night, not safe to walk.
Location: city center
Hotel is charming, eclectic, each room is different. The breakfast was fabulous. Abdul at the front desk was extremely helpful in arranging plans for us. It was a short $5.00 USD cab ride to the waterfront. All in all I highly recommend this hotel.
