Beautiful place and beautiful town!Posted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: Room, view, breakfast
Cons: A fridge.
Location: It's in the middle of the town, very good location. You get restaurants, bars, shops near by.
The room we had was wonderful, a nice big room with great sea view! Very simple but comfortable, we like its simplicity. The breakfast at the guesthouse was great too! Fresh, teasty and plenty! The guest house located at a hill, a good location to go anywhere in Kalk bay. Really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Chartfield is in a lovely locationPosted Aug 14, 2013
Cons: Parking situation
We had a great stay with Chartfield and have recommended it to my family, who is going their in a few weeks. Parking was quite a problem. It is a family run guest house, and most of the staff was very gracious, however, one of the members clearly doesn't like her job. The couple who own the property were just wonderful.

Comfortable hotel, nice staffPosted Jul 15, 2013
We with wife were from 3 July until 7 July 2013. This hotel is small and comfortable. It is close the ocean. The staff is nice and kind.

A nice guest house. Only complaint would be inaccessibility of staff part of the day and lack of free wi-fi or internet. A bit tacky to charge for the use of a centrally located computer.

A Really Romantic PlacePosted Oct 17, 2012 on Hotels.com
A very romantic place where they really pay attention to the details. A 25 minute drive from Cape Town center, next door to Muizenberg beach, 20 minutes to Boulders Beach and 30 minutes to the Cape of Good hope. Parking is on-street with a car guard. Stairs go down to the coast and a charming street full of shops, restaurants, and cafes. Plenty within walking distance. Our room was modern but still romantic and was clean and comfortable. Our room, "Jenny," had a view of the ocean, the mountains, and the fishing boats that was lovely. We saw whales swimming by one afternoon. Plug in heater in the room. A bottle of local wine and of water provided in the room for a reasonable fee. The staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel has plenty of comfortable sitting areas (one inside with a fireplace and reading materials, some outside near the pool, and one on the patio with blankets in case it gets cold and binoculars to watch the whales). Breakfast was excellent and there were plenty of choices for several nights stay. I highly recommend the eggs with truffle oil. Coffee was also excellent, made from an "illy" coffee machine. A free coffee service was also offered each morning where you sign up the night before for a specialty coffee to be delivered to your room at your specified time. Overall, I loved this B&B and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a romantic getaway.
