Died and went to heavenPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Staff, room, bed, quiet, food, shower, coffee, temperature, cleanliness, location
Cons: I could sell my possesiens and move in permanently.
Location: Wine town, university town, oldest house in South Africa, resteraunts galore, parks.
Drove from the airport there challenged by driving on the left side of the road. Staff ran out and cleared traffic so I could park. Then they moved my car to their garage ,took my luggage inside, and babied my weary soul with food and drink. I have never had better service in my life. Great room. Antiques and modern bathroom. Quiet, safe, and comfortable. Great breakfast, better staff, an exquisite time. I will circle back there in a month or so.

Classy comfortPosted Mar 2, 2014
Cons: Parking is by concierge only...a little inconvenient but it works.
Location: In the heart of town with all the shops, restaurants, cafés nearby.
We only spent one night at this very unique and cosy hotel. It gave us a feeling of homeyness and well appointed charm. Attention to detail was superlative and the decor was classy and thoughtful. The bed was extraordinary comfortable and soft. The staff was very friendly and nice. The breakfast was nice with home baked fresh bread. The location is perfect near the restaurants and shops. We absolutely recommend to stay at this hotel if you happen to be in Stellenbosch. If we ever visit Stellanbosch again we will definitely make this our home for our stay.

Outstanding hotelPosted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: Outstanding manageress and staff, fantastic location, all round great quality and value for money
Cons: Could eat breakfast inside or outside - the internal dining room was perhaps a little dark decor-wise but outside areas perfect.
Location: Beautiful city to wander around with its university then more wineries than you know what to do with!
The hotel is superbly located right In the middle of Stellenbosch. Quiet, (but worth checking out were your room is located as street-facing could be noisy) but close to everything. We were warmly greeted by Lisibet (not sure of spelling!) a lovely lady who couldn't do enough to help and booked various excellent restaurants for us, advised about wineries etc. Our Classic room was beautifully decorated, not huge, but we did have a huge balcony that more than made up for it. (Petite is very small!) The bathroom was lovely, very large, great shower and pristine. Great toiletries. Outside the pool area is beautiful and a real oasis in the city. The front terrace is great to people watch over a glass of wine. Breakfast was first class and we also had dinner in the restaurant which also excellent. We stayed in 8 different hotels during our month's trip, all of which were fantastic, but this was definitely the best value for money for the quality.

A wonderful hotel with excellent levels of service, located on a great street in Stellenbosch with cafes, restaurants and art galleries. Our room was relatively small, but it was beautifully furnished and was extremely comfortable. The room had a long terrace overlooking the pool and a good sized, well-designed bathroom. Attentive and friendly staff, and excellent food.

Pros: Wonder was a very helpful and lovely person, but all the staff were all fantastic. Also the bed was dreamy, lovely bedding and pillows.
Location: The location is ideal for staying in Stellenbosch. The hotel is right in the middle of town near all the charming shops and cafes.
What a wonderful, beautiful and charming hotel! I stayed for two nights for a conference at the University and felt so at home and relaxed. The staff is absolutely lovely, the cooking is fantastic and the decor and setting is perfect. I can't recommend this hotel enough, it is THE place to stay in Stellenbosch.

Excellent service & friendly staff! We had dinner at Helena's, which was one of our favorite meals in Cape Town. The breakfast was also very yummy. Our room was beautifully appointed with a large balcony. Everything about our stay here was absolutely perfect! Highly recommended.
