“Nice apartment, challenging check-in”
While the apartment was as-described on the website, the check-in process was not described on Expedia and was quite complicated. As no instructions for arrival were included on Expedia or in the confirmation emails that were sent before arrival, we planned to head directly to the hotel from the airport. Fortunately, we decided to rent a car rather than take the airport shuttle to the city center, as when we called to ask about parking, we were informed that we had to retrieve the keys and complete the check-in process at another location approximately three miles from the hotel. The property manager claimed he had emailed instructions the day before, but they were never received. In any case, this information would have been important to know well in advance to make appropriate arrangements. After we managed to get directions over the phone to meet the property manager, the check-in process took over an hour. The apartment itself was in fine condition, though only two shabby towels and one set of well-worn (and somewhat stained) linens were provided for our stay. The apartment was furnished with minimal cookware and enough mismatched dishes for two people to have one meal. The location was good, squeezed between the CBD, De Waterkant and the V&A Waterfront. Unfortunately, our stay was soured on arrival. I would not recommend this accommodation in the future.
