Excellent hotel layout , lift style. Friendly staff.very well maintained and clean. Very good amenities. This is certainly the bedt family friendly hotel I have stayed in!

Great hotel. Was difficult to find, especially at night. As the signs from Main Road, were not obvious, going towards Mowbray. Good breakfast. Wifi worked well.

Beautiful hotel

Location: Is relatively close to the airport but not within walking distance to tourist attractions or downtown
Friendly and helpful staff. Checked in late at night and offered to open kitchen for us. Lofted suite was perfect as we had three people and everyone had own private space. Gym was excellent and breakfast had a wide variety of foods and beverages. Most enjoyable!!

Das Loft-Zimmer war absolut top. Die Lage ist nicht zentral, aber unproblematisch.

Overall a good hotel clean and tidy good facilities and very friendly staff. Only downside is that it's slightly to far from the V&A waterfront and City centre making it more than a quick walk.

Fantastic hotel - location not the best

During our trip to Cape Town we stayed at the Double Tree on two occasions as we didn't have all our accommodation booked when we arrived in SA. We arranged for the Double Tree to collect us from the airport and on arrival at the hotel I was a bit worried about the location. Its in a semi-industrial area with various factory shops and a call centre. However after checking in we were informed the hotel ran a free shuttle service to and from he waterfront at regular intervals, plus its fairly cheap in a taxi. The hotel is very very nice and the staff are super helpful. The room we had on the 1st stay was good, however I managed to book a loft suite for our second stay that was excellent. The breakfast is fairly standard but good and there is a chef ready to cook eggs, pancakes and omelettes to order. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pros: Great staff, very friendly and helpful. The hotels communal areas look good. The restaurant and bar are reasonably priced.
Cons: Free Wifi throughout the hotel, rather than on the ground floor only. Free shuttle to the airport.
Location: Location is not great and not the safest area and there is nothing touristy within walking distance, but there is a free shuttle bus.
The hotel is not in the safest past of Cape Town but there is a free shuttle bus into town. It is good if you are only staying for a short period of time. The hotel itself is lovely and the rooms are spacious will large bathrooms.

Staff friendly but provide poor quality service

This hotel is located in an area of Cape Town where (as advised in the hotels own bsdroom hand book "it is inadvisable to walk in the district surrounding the hotel and it is best to site see by car"). This would be fine if the concierge was ever at his desk, answered his telephone, or managed to book a taxi when requested!! Arranging a taxi appeared impossible. The booking system broke down when we were checking out, and the electronic key lock on our bedroom ran flat and had to be recharged late one evening before we could get into our room. So, poor location and poor quality service from front desk and concierge. Rooms are small, but adequate, On a positive note, meals are reasonably priced and good. Good bar.However, I will avoid staying in this hotel again.
