A wonderful place to stay!
The staff are friendly and especially Natale couldn’t do enough to make our stay wonderful. The hotel has charm and character. Our room was well appointed and everything was in perfect condition. The location is great with local bars and restaurants nearby as well as the main sightseeing places. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful location, decor and service!
I stayed here for 6 nights, and couldn't have been happier with my visit. The hotel itself is located in beautiful Bo-Kaap and well situated in the city. The red citysightseeing bus has a stop right across the street and their office location is just a few blocks from the hotel. Long Street is also nearby and has some great dining options. The entire design of the hotel is just beautiful, full of antiques and character. The room is spacious and has high ceilings, the bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is impeccably clean and relaxing. Breakfast is also super tasty. I think though that the most memorable part of the hotel was its staff. Everyone was truly such a pleasure and so helpful during my stay (shout out to Nathan, Oscar, Julius, Zee and Victor)! Grateful for having such an amazing experience in such a beautiful city. I would definitely stay here again. -- Only drawback is the wifi. The connection is spotty, but - to be honest - also unnecessary.

Charming hotel with a caring and friendly staff.
We loved our stay at the Dutch Manor Antique Hotel. The rooms were so comfortable and the hotel itself filled with unique antiques. The breakfast was amazing. Oscar, the chef, made croissants and other fresh pastries every morning. There was always fresh fruit and the omelette was amazing. Nate at the front desk was extremely attentive and allowed us to have a late checkout since our flight did not leave until the afternoon. And the location was perfect. It is in a safe area with easy access to everything in Cape Town. I would definitely stay there again. High recommended!!!!

Unique, Great Value Hotel in the Bo Kaap
This hotel was a great mix of modern and antique, with the furnishing achieving the latter and the bathroom and air-conditioning doing the former. The room was spacious and clean, with the antique furniture really adding a unique character. The location of the hotel was central for everything Cape Town by foot (although be ready to walk up hills as part of your time in the city, it is not flat...), and only 20 mins from the main airport. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and great value for money.

Very disappointed
We booked this hotel because of its location, apparent value-for-money, and reviews. The location did not disappoint but much else did. We used Hotels.com to book a “luxury double suite” with a “separate dining area,” in-room WiFi, and complimentary breakfast. We got a regular single room with no separate dining area. WiFi was only available right next to the door AND we were never able to log on (with U.S.-based iPhones/iPads). When we told the proprietor she said “that’s strange” and did nothing to rectify the situation. Finally, on our first morning the proprietor said she could not provide complimentary breakfast at the rate we paid (which was low, granted, but we were way off season). She said this was a listing error by Hotels.com, and instead offered us breakfast at 75 ZAR. That did not address the fact that what we signed up for was *free* breakfast. (Also, FYI we discovered that a good breakfast can be had within 2-3 blocks for ~60 ZAR plus tip.) In fairness, the good points: super-convenient location, clean, good shower, well-done in-room coffee/etc. and toiletries. Then there is personal taste: if you love antiques you may love this hotel, but if you like “light and bright” this is not the place for you (even the artificial lighting is dim). Take a good look at the website. And be wary. Some of our issues may be the fault of Hotels.com (I’m contacting them separately) but still, I got the sense that the proprietor cares more about antiques than guests.

On a very very busy road
On arrival, after a 24hr journey, there is no welcome, just immediate demand for full payment. so unnecessary Entering the room first thing I see is small internal curtain on 1 window falling down but main problem no hanging area for clothes, as well as no hangers, room is dominated by large 'cupboard' is only drawer space All floors are wood, no matter what room you get as soon as other guests go to breakfast you hear the noise, we can all get used to heavy road noise but not other guests dragging chairs out at breakfast, the room for this is next door to 4 bedrooms We moved to upstairs room, at 5.3ins I could not get into bed without chair! In morning 2 guests sat outside our bedroom door from 8am chatting, American guests, this area is meant for this but not good if your sleeping as the time difference for you takes few days to adjust to. Found breakfast poor, staff poorly trained. Tea was either small amount of hot water in cup or one large pot!!! Juice not available but on noticing another guest with orange juice and pointing to, still could not get any. I arrived and hotel was empty found service and what was on menu not available, when hotel became full was worse, long wait and young girl makes no effort to understand No excuse I spent 3 weeks in many different places, never a problem with language, I felt they did not have item so she pretended not to understand so basically no orange juice or cranberry only a mango juice

Dutch Manor was an outstanding place to stay. The wifi was consistent and fast, which was needed for working during my stay. The service was excellent - tips for restaurants in the neighborhood, delicious breakfasts, well kept spacious room that was quiet and comfortable. Good Hotel - Bad Service
We did not have a good experience at the hotel. I visited the hotel a week in advance to make sure about the room that was booked and all was confirmed and in order - room 5. However when we arrived, we were given another room(no 6) with 2 single beds, the remote was missing from the room and an annoying bathroom fan was running the whole night long - nobody could shut it down - very noisy! The next morning when we ordered croissants for breakfast we were told "waiting on delivery" - that was the same story for 3 mornings in a row! How difficult could it have been to quickly go out to a store and buy these items? Also, they couldn't serve something else that was missing from the menu. We asked them to have it ready for the next morning but no effort was made to get it. One of the chefs also were quite annoyed when we repeatedly asked for the items and they couldn't deliver - really bad service and a bad attitude.

I apologized and mentioned to you that I was on my annual leave the time you stayed with us, which is no excuse for bad service you received. You requested a compensation for a free night and I agreed. It is very disappointing that you went ahead to write about your bad experience after I agreed to make it up to you. Please be informed that, there will be no compensation to you anymore and I hope that publishing your review made you better. .Please do not contact us concerning compensation. Thank you

Quaint hotel - a bit noisy and inconvenien parking
The hotel is charming in its Olde worlde state.Loved the four poster beds - very comfortable. The dining room is lovely with a big communal table with antique decor. Breakfast was nice but they ran out of some food items on the Sunday which was a bit disappointing. The downside was the noise from the kitchen waking us up at 6 am, and our bathroom had leak damage on the wall which spoilt the look of the room. Parking was very inconvenient and expensive. It was up the road with a padlocked gate and no one to open it, so a lot of walking up and down was involved to get the car in and out. At R85 per day for open parking without proper access, was a bit much.

wonderful atmospheric guesthouse
I enjoyed my 3 days in this lovely old guesthouse immensely. It has bags of charm and atmosphere. My bedroom had a four poster bed and elegant old furniture - and a large modern bathroom. The staff were incredibly helpful. They arranged for an airport pickup and helped me book excursions and taxis. It is very conveniently located within walking distance of Cape Town's most significant museums, gardens and the Bo-Kaap Asian area with its narrow streets of colourful houses. Numerous restaurants close by. It is situated on a noisy road which may be a problem for some but still well worth it.

Characterful hotel in great location for city
I enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was in a good location and was a good choice for my stay in Cape Town. It is a hotel to use as a base, which is what I wanted, not really a hotel to spend a lot of time in - though there is a balcony to sit on on the first floor. I was initially concerned about the traffic noise as my room was at the front and the hotel is adjacent to a busy road, but it was not a problem. The heavy drapes muted the sound and I slept soundly every night.

Literally in front of a Hop-on hop-off bus stop which makes it very convenient for tours on this bus which I also highly recommend. I had a great stay. I would stay again. I would not walk around the hotel at night so mind that. Just get a cab back to night or use uber which works great in south africa. Great staff. Amazing beeakfast. Beautiful house.

Disappointing, would not return
Booked 2 luxury rooms 10 months in advance. Firstly, the airport transport we arranged through the hotel simply did not materialise. On arrival at Dutch Manor we were greeted with "you've booked 'standard rooms' ". When we showed copies of reservations for "luxury" rooms and 1 "luxury" room became available but the second room was not available at all due to overbooking and staff could not grasp why we were disgruntled at having the family group split. Ultimately another room was found, a room I think not normally let to the public; this was a stop- gap for one night only until a room became vacant. When we enquirer if this was the "luxury" room we booked we were told ALL the rooms are "luxury". This contradicted what we told at arrival. The second room was changed again, with our agreement, to accommodate other guests' bed arrangement preference. Dutch Manor is beautiful, with much potential. Sadly Cleanliness of the rooms was not up to standard; very dusty. There was a little posy of totally dead flowers in the bathroom and in the shower was a previous resident's prescription shampoo. Breakfast is good and everybody sits round one large table so you do get to know your fellow residents. The staff are lovely and I did feel for the front of house staff who had to deal with the problem of overbooking. I felt they were let down by the management. In summary, You can do much better than Dutch Manor. Tip Do not pay a premium for a "luxury" room as they are all deemed luxury.

We had a great 4 night stay at the Dutch Manor. The staff were excellent and the breakfasts were superb. A central location within easy walking distance of the city centre and the V&A Waterfront. Period small hotel on the edge of the Bo Kaap area
Small boutique type hotel that is more like a B&B. The staff were friendly enough, but not over attentive. The house is full of lovely antique furniture and interesting objects. We had a room upstairs, with a four poster bed with heavy drapes around the bed and at the window. The bed was comfy enough but very high to get on.There was only one hanger and some hooks on the wall, so nowhere really to hang clothes. The bathroom was very big and modern, with a huge shower and good toiletries . No bath though. There was a small shared balcony, reached from the landing, that overlooked a very busy road. Breakfast was served around a large communal table. Breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and were as expected. It was a good base for sightseeing and we were able to walk to other areas of the city, in the daytime. There was a secure car park for a fee.

Lots of good, only a few small annoyances.
Nice location, fun old hotel, great breakfast. Would have given a 5 for cleanliness but there was some used floss on the floor in the bathroom my first day (removed the next) and a couple of long hairs in the shower the second day after cleaning (I have a thing about hair and a cursory final look would have spotted it). Also had some issues with trying to use the hotel for getting transport to/from the hotel. Never saw the guy on my arrival so had to take a taxi (which was readily available for the same price), and yet they still wanted to charge me.
