The accommodation exceeded what I had expected. The owners are very welcoming and easy to approach. The hostel has an amazing view of palm trees and nature. If you are traveling via public transport, the bus stop (myCiti) is not too far and neither is the mall. The neighbourhood is very clean, quiet and peaceful. My friend and I were surprised at the neighbourhood because where we are from, there is litter everywhere and the town is always busy. Looking for a quiet place to stay in Cape Town? Try the Colors of Cape Town, you will not regret it and it definitely good value for money. If you have children, there is a park where children can play and a swimming pool. Thank you for having us Barry and Patricia.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and I love the decor. My only suggestions are to at least add a curtain/blinds to the bathroom window and a coat rack of some sort. The room I stayed in was at ground level and the bathroom window did not have any blinds or frosted glass. If tall enough, someone passing by through the sevice entrance could see right into the bathroom and the shower. I walked into the bathroom one morning to brush my teeth and found someone cleaning the outside of the window, my privacy felt violated. I rigged a makeshift curtain, but would have rather liked the comfort of knowing that complete strangers could not peep into the bathroom. I would've liked to have had a coat rack or a coat-hook instead of just a closet with some hangers. Their breakfast was more than enough to help kick off a day of exploring Cape Town. The V&A Waterfront is a 30+ minute walk from the guesthouse by way of the promenade and about 10 minutes by taxi. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs within walking distance on the Main Road of Sea Point.

Lovely little place and we really enjoyed it. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was wonderful. Bed was pretty uncomfortable but other than that the room and bathroom was gorgeous. Would definitely go back.

Nice rooms and garden. Great tasting homemade breads at breakfast. Alex and Johann were very helpful and friendly. Lots of unique decorations and antiques. Only negative is the stairs to get to the house and then to the rooms. Not for those with walking difficulties.

We were visiting Franschhoek from Toronto for a wedding. My friend and I stayed for 7 nights at the The Ivy and loved every moment of it. The flat was nicely decorated with comfortable beds and linen as well as 2 full baths with rain showers. There was a full self-catering kitchen and a washing machine for laundry. The staff were incredibly helpful and considerate. They even found us an US power adapter for our electronics which was otherwise hard to come by in town. One day we returned to find that they had removed our clothes from the washing machine, dried and folded all our laundry. This was one of the best experiences I've had and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
