Pros: Newly refurbished rooms to a higher standard than expected, friendly and helpful staff, great views, good food and a good nights sleep.
Cons: Swimming pools are fairly unimpressive and not enough to do at night.
Location: The hotel is approx. 8 km from central Cape Town. Hotel runs a complimentary shuttle to V&A waterfront or a cab is approx. £10 e/w.

It is good hotel but we face a problemPosted Nov 8, 2013
Location: The location is good between the waterfront and Canal walk mall.
The hotel is good, but we face a problem the size of the room not same what I select from the website, and I register for 1 king bed but the give me twin bed and they said if I need king bed they can put the beds on behind. and they didn't fix this problem.

Need a RefundPosted Oct 28, 2013
Cons: Service, took close to 2hrs to finally get a room. Please also clean the rooms thoroughly.
Didnt get value for our money. Checked-in to find two singles in our room while we booked a king bed. When we complained, house keeping was sent to convert the two singles into a king right in front of us. Carpet didn't look clean, mirror in the bathroom was broken and the shower floor had grime, window on the mini balcony was covered with bird droppings, etc. We asked for the manager and eventually were moved to another room, at the back of the hotel with a view of the highway. The next day there was a fair held along the passage to our room, felt strange going thru all those people to get to our room. While it was bed and breakfast, the food was mediocre, would have cooked a better omelette at home. All in all, it was a horrible experience.

Lagoon Beach Hotel, Cape TownPosted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: The staff was very helpful, and had good spirits. They were very friendly. I loved that it was right on the beach, excellent for summer days
Cons: The gym equipment barely worked, they can seal the doors to keep the drafty cool air out. Better lighting throughout the rooms. Faster internet
Location: its right on the beach so thats a plus. However it is a little drive from everything else. Its not exactly in Cape Town, its in Milnerton.
First, let me say that this is a better summer hotel. Its on the beach so thats convenient but its outside of Cape Town. However it was very cold inside the room and in the hallways. There is a serious draft coming into the room from the hallways and from the windows. Speaking of hallways, they are big, eerie and have a creepy deserted feel. The cardio equipment doesnt work. I complained so much about the room being cold that finally I was given a heater. The internet was slow, good thing I stuck with the complimentary internet. The staff was very friendly and always positive. I liked them a lot. The breakfast was pretty decent but every morning it seemed like there was some meeting or convention going on at the hotel. Overall not a bad place to stay, I would recommend it for the summer and I definitely wouldnt rate it as a 4 star. 3 stars at best and thats pushing it. The toilettries were not replenished every day. I had to call every time I wanted soap. I thought that was a bit odd. Oh did I mention how cold the hotel was.

Not as goodPosted Aug 22, 2013
Pros: Pleasant staff
Cons: Cleanliness and upkeep of the apartments
We visited this hotel's apartments for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The apartment we had was fine so we decided to finish our holiday there for the last 2 nights. Unfortunately, the second apartment was at best tired and at worst grotty with the bathroom having mould and black around the sink. The tap was very loose and the apartment had a stale curry smell. The bedroom had dirty marks on the wall and what may have been spatters of blood! If we had been given this apartment the first time we wouldn't have gone back. Saying all of this, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the car park secure.

Beautiful view Lovely ocean soundsPosted May 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
We rented a car so the fact that the hotel was a little distance from the V & A and downtown was not a problem. Secure free parking was included. It was so nice to come back to the quiet area of the beach after sightseeing. We noticed many people drove out to this beach to take photos of the sunrise and sunsets. The view from our room was unbelievably beautiful with the waves, Table mountain, and the city lights. The room was very spacious with a great balcony and a floor to ceiling wall of glass. Slept great in very comfortable bed to the sound of the ocean. Included breakfast very nice as well. If you plan to rent a car this is the place to be. Request deluxe ocean view room.
