Jazz fest

Posted Mar 31, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel was nice and clean. I was a bit disappointed by the room size. I booked a superior room and it was very small. Other than that my stay was pleasant. The hotel is vibey and the dj kept us entertained, after the Jazz festival we continued with the entertainment at the. Very friendly staff.

Over rated and expensive

Posted Mar 23, 2015 on Hotels
Very disappointed with the revamp. This hotel is no longer the quirky place I visited last year. Its completely non-descript. The rooms are minute and double what you pay anywhere else. The shower is in the room. No fridge or extra chair to relax in. My room was supposed to be ready at 14h00, but was only available at 15h30. Definitely would not recommend. You can get the same quality room at City Lodge for half price and possibly bigger. For this price rather stay at President in Sea Point or a hotel in the waterfront. The rate did not even include breakfast so R2295 was way excessive.Extremely disappointed.

Thank you for your feedback. I have noted your comments and will address accordingly. We do understand that the hotel was well known for its quirky design; however the new design allows for the hotel to be in keeping with a more modern feel. The staff are still the same and continue to maintain their quirkiness. Sorry that we disappointed you and hope to make it up to you when you visit Cape Town next. Have fun and take chances :)

Great hotel for a night or two in the citu

Posted Mar 14, 2015 on Hotels
I stayed at the hotel with my wife for 2 nights in March 2015. The rooms were modern an very clean. The wi-fi was on the slow side. Parking was no problem. The restaurant and bar was nice. Half of the rooms have a great view of Table Mountain. The area around the hotel is full of great restaurants and just around the corner is a convenience store. I would reccomend the hotel for a 1 or 2 night stay, but for longer stays the rpom may be tad small

Dear FG, Thank you for the great review. I noted your comments with regards to the rooms. Please note that we have 3 different room types: - Standard -Superior -Executive The Superior and Executive rooms are much more spacious, so the next time you book, I recommend enquiring about an upgrade to these. Once again, thanks for the great feedback. The TEAM and I look forward to welcoming you back. Have fun and take chances :) Regards, Rekha Sohun Deputy General Manager

A Melhor Escolha

Posted Mar 9, 2015 on Hotels
Super recomendado.

The best choice

Posted Mar 2, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed in the loft 12 (two rooms) 6 days. Our stay at Protea was excellent, we could not have chosen a better place to enjoy the wonderful city of Cape Town. We have a 3 year old boy, and what we most liked at the Fire and Ice is the fact that it has the comfort of an apartment with all the facilities of a hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful (we had a problem with our safe, but they did not measure efforts to solve it), the accommodations are very comfortable, good bed and shower and the room decor is very beautiful. The breakfast, though a little expensive, is really excellent. As well as the gym and the pool. The location is central, a few minutes by taxi from Waterfront but with excellent restaurants and bars a few steps, and with a beautiful view of Table Mountain. Super recommended.

Absolutely NOT!

Posted Feb 23, 2015 on Hotels
NO, NO, NO... This wannabe W hotel look alike is a complete disaster!!! the staff all think they are too cool for school!! the food is below average for the area, the rooms are small and poorly maintained. We had the top of our doorframe missing and while accepting a room service order the side of the door frame fell and the server didn't give 2 %$&# about it and left. The staff is very poorly trained and we never saw a manager on duty. Not to mention that we called the Front Desk on a Sunday and asked to speak to a manager only to be told that no manager was on duty on Sunday. Overpriced and under deliver is how best to describe this hotel.

Dear Michael, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you were given a room that was not up to standard. This certainly is not the norm and rest assured, I will be discussing further with my team. As the hotel is opened 24 hours, we do have Duty Managers on property at all times. I will definitely look into this; so thank you for bringing this to my attention. Once again, thank you for your feedback. Regards, Rekha Sohun
