Great central hotelPosted Nov 24, 2013
Pros: Loved its position, light airy rooms, fab views (ask for room 108, or any with a balcony), friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Free Internet would be good, although you can buy a voucher.
Location: Kayaking to see the penguins at Boulders Beach is fun (also an easy 20 minute walk), or get a boat from the harbour & go shark cage diving!
The Quayside is right on the waterfront, overlooking the harbour. Definitely worth paying a little extra for one of the rooms with a balcony - they are nice & roomy, with huge bed, nice bathroom (with shower as well as bath), and a fabulous view over the harbour. All the restaurants & shops are right on the doorstep, and Bertha's down below is a great place to have a drink & watch the world go by. Try Salty Dog for excellent fish and chips and The Lighthouse on the main street for exceptional food anytime - need to book for the evenings or you won't get a table.

Lovely harbour viewPosted Nov 14, 2013
Probably the best positioned Hotel in Simon's Town. The superior doubles with the balcony are well worth the little bit extra. There is a magnificent uninterrupted view right over the harbour, and without the road noise and traffic fumes you get if you stay on the main busy street which runs through the town. Just a few steps away are all the shops & cafes that Simon's Town has to offer. Lovely comfy super kingsize beds, nice bathrooms with bath and shower, and spacious balcony to watch the world go by. Staff have been pleasant and helpful. One drawback is the limited parking - only 5 spaces at the front of the Hotel on a first come first serve basis, but reception showed us where we could park for free nearby when it was full.

Really great spotPosted Aug 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Quayside (Keyside) was really great spot, right on the water. The staff was extremely helpful and very nice. They have turn down service which is nice and a really great atmosphere. If you are going to stay there, definitely staff on the water side it's amazing.

Great Hotel and friendly staff.Posted Mar 19, 2013
Great hotel and really enjoyed my stay. Friendly and helpful staff too. If I could suggest a couple of areas for improvement then these would be: 1. The standard room is a twin and the double rooms or ones with a queen size or a bigger bed seemed to be few and far between. So despite requesting a double bed in my original booking I found that I was given the "standard" twin on arrival. 2. The power points in the rooms are located on the opposite wall to the bed. So if you want to use your phone and/or computer while it's charging then you need an extension cord.

Great location for enjoying the Cape PeninsulaPosted Mar 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Friendly and helpful staff, lovely location right on the harbour and our room was great, breakfasts were a bit hit and miss with the receptionist doubling up as head waitress. It was a shame that the hotel didn't have a bar or restaurant or outside seating that would have been lovely but it was excellent value for money. We would definitely recommend it as a base for sightseeing in the Cape Peninsula. Lots of lovely shops a d restaurants right on the doorstep.
