Near a bunch of night life & pubsPosted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: The location and the value.
Cons: I wish housekeeping would change the bedsheets, instead of just making the beds.
Location: It is located 2 blocks from the bus station, and few blocks (the other way) to V&A, and to the CCID.
It is located 2 blocks from the bus station, and few blocks (the other way) to V&A, and to the CCID. The city is doing a swell job of placing MANY police and security officers all around the CCID & the routes to the V&A daily from mid-morning until about 01:00 or so. This property is also close to the gay/pink district, and has safe, like...stumbling-safe, access to local pubs & nightlife. The food is excellent, and bellmen are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Not bad in a pinchPosted Feb 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was conveniently located. The rooms are small but functional. There is wireless available in the room. The first 100mb is free then you pay a small amount for wireless after that (kind of annoying but I've dealt with worse). Parking is limited but I lucked out and never had to try to find parking elsewhere. Overall not a bad deal.

Very friendly staffPosted Nov 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is an old hotel which gives you an impression that it got stuck in 80's which us not bad if you into 80's... The staff is very friendly and helpful, but the quality of rooms and food needs some TLC...

Nice Hotel for the pricePosted Jul 6, 2013
Pros: The price
Cons: Facility parking was very small and cramped. The hotel has an 100 ZAR surcharge for any room service that needs to go away.
We really enjoyed the stay because of the location. It was located downtown in an area with cafe's and pubs. The hotel parking wasn't that great.

Good valuePosted Nov 19, 2012 on Hotels.com
Loved the hotel. Rooms were comfortable. 1412 has a great view - request this room if you like light. Excellent view of mountains. Breakfast was good, so was the executive lounge where you can have light snacks and coffe/tea. Wireless service was 100 Meg / day free, and then additional capacity for a small fee. Transportation, everywhere we went we used a taxi. From the hotel to the Harbor its always 50 rand. To the airport 300 rand, to the convention center 30 rand. Hallways need to be updated. Staff is great.

Bed sheets were dirty when I arrived but overall the room was clean. Internet service was slow and spotty. The hotel service was great and the hotel experience was pleasant. It was good value.

Good and badPosted May 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
GOOD: The people working at this hotel are SUPER NICE and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the location is convenient. BAD: the building is rather old and not really well-kept. There's a lot of work for an interior designer there.:)
