“Taj Hotel gets five stars from me!”

I would highly recomment the Taj Hotel (Cape Town). My room was on the 5th floor and therefore didn't have a mountain or city view. However, I was still pleased as the room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the cleaning staff were always thorough. The concierge was usually very helpful. In fact, they saved me a few dollars by booking the Hop on Hop off bus and Robben's Island activities through them. The doormen were always attentive - opening taxi doors, retrieving my bags, opening hotel doors, etc. My room was serviced twice a day, everyday, for the entire 7 day trip that I was there. They never missed a beat. The turndown service even provided small bottles water, fresh fruit, and turned on the lights and tv for my arrival (although I think the latter is rather wasteful and not energy efficient#. The hotel is conveniently located. A grocery store is within walking distance. Plenty of restaurants and eateries are also within walking distance. My favorite was Crush for daily fresh fruit smoothies and granola with yogurt and fresh fruit topping. Be warned many of the more popular restaurants #Bombay Brasserie, Savoy Cabbage, CodFather) will require reservations, which the conceirge fulfulls without incident. My only compliant, like others, is the 30 minutes of free internet provided by the Taj Hotel. This can be solved by going to the Twankey Bar next door which offers free Wi-Fi. However, you will have to order something from the menu.

“all around great hotel”

super great..travelled much, seen many hotels , this one is the best I've seen. Am trying hard to think of something that was not ok but can't think of anything...enjoy

“Top Notch Hotel for cleanliness & comfort”

The hotel met my expectations beyond and above. If cleanliness & a comfortable bed is important, this is the best hotel. The gym is also very nice. However, the spa could use improvement- in terms of mani- pedi services, but my massage was acceptable. The food was good as well. My only complaint was the pushy- action to check-out, but maybe they needed the room? regards, a professional traveler.

“Good for Everyone”

Overall it was a nice experience. The welcome was excellent. Good ambiance. The room was very big enough and it had nice view of the street.We had bad experience with intercom as it was not connected. I had to fix it myself. The experience with the One Team was excellent and memorable.

“Service terrible not up to standard”

We arrived at the hotel at 2 pm . As we arrived the reception told us that the room will be shortly ready. After waiting 1 hour we complaining then the manager came and told us that he will do his best to get ready the room as soon as possible. Two hours in total waiting at the hotel lobby with nothing to offer for waiting for the rooms. The food is terrible will not suggest to anyone to order. At check out they lost my car keys that i valet the previous day and had to wait another 1 hour till they find the keys. Their service is a joke and the staff should be changed asap PS Dead pigeon outside our room
