Espresso cost outrageous !Posted Nov 28, 2013
Staff and facilities generally very good. One waitress in the breakfast room was a little sour and unfriendly. The cost of a double espresso was extortionate. Continental breakfast cost Zar 80 and a double espresso cost Zar 40. I had an excellent espresso round the corner at The Foodlo Lovers market for Zar 14? Something not quite right I feel. Other than that though I had no complaints.

Good room - excellent positionPosted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: The location and room.
Cons: The reception staff's attitude, although for the price, we can't complain too much.
Location: The hotel is in the heart of Cape Town, right next to Long St where all the bars and restaurants are. The V & A Waterfront is about a 25 minute walk.
The room is very good with everything you need apart from a fridge. It's good to see the hotel providing complimentary wi-fi. The gym is small but sufficient for cardio workouts. The pool is described as a lap-pool. Trust me, it is not a lap-pool. It's a bit bigger than a bath tub. The staff on reception are not particularly friendly or helpful, which is a shame as the rest of the hotel is good for the price.

bathroom was so small you couldn't close the doorPosted Sep 19, 2013
Hotel is far from the waterfront. While the Green Market is in front of it, one has to take a taxi to nay of the other attractions that Cape Town has to offer.

Good hotel, excellent location, but a bit oldPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: Good Location and satisfactory room at a good price
Cons: Rooms and public areas need renovation, but nothing that makes the stay unpleasant.
Location: Great to go out and not have to drive back - few minutes walk. I highly recommend Fork restaurant (tapas) just around the corner (really!)
Hotel is definitely well located, a block from Long st and within walking distance to most of the attraction in the city center. Valet parking is reasonably priced (R7) and staff was very nice.

Nice place to recover from 2 weeks in the AfricanPosted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: Clean and great shower.
Cons: Speed up the food service.
Location: Very good central location. Very close to Long Street. The Red and Blue Bus is just 1 block away.
This hotel is well located in the center of the city. Rooms are small, esp. the bathroom, but it was clean and updated. Beware that there is a market in the square where the vendors set up and take down everyday, so there is noise till they get the job done. The staff appears to be helpful, but they did get the time of our departure incorrectly even after daily reminders. The breakfast buffet was great (not included in the daily rate unless you ask to have it added). The restaurant is above average, but the food service is slow. Make sure to try the Malva pudding dessert with a cup of cappuccino. Also try the Addis Cafe, about 2 blocks from the hotel for very good Ethiopian cuisine. A nice way to get back to reality after 2 weeks in the African bush.

Does what it says on the tinPosted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great location, staff always happy to help, rooms generous size. And all this at a great rate. In the UK the cost would be 3 times more for the same
