“An unexpected treat”

It's close to the city center, although you can't really walk there to the V&A waterfront easily. They were really nice, but the internet prices were outrageous. Breakfast was very good and included in the price. Rooms were small, but very clean and nice. The TV was a computer monitor, so it was a bit difficult to watch. As a single woman, I felt safe there.

“Excellent hotel in fabulous city”

We discovered that the rooms were suites! Kitchen facilities, massive bedroom and sitting area, good sized bathroom. Excellent service, good breakfasts. Conveniently situated with parking available (we had a hire car). Wonderful city and surrounding areas and so cheap for us (GBP v Rand) at the time. Wonderful place to visit. So much to do, we only just managed to fit everything into a week - and that included hardly any beach time! Beautiful climate (late Oct), fabulous scenery. Friendly and felt as safe as anywhere we have been. Would not hesitate to go back.

The hotel is centrally located downtown and within walking distance of the Convention Center, shopping and souvenier areas. Breakfast was often crowded with not the best service, but the food was fine and a cook-to-order station provided everything you need. One caution, the town rolls up after 17:00 (5:00 p.m.) so plan to eat outside the area.

The service of the staff was outstanding and certainly made up for the maintenance problems. The first day we had no hot water and they offered to move rooms for us but we liked our room and luckily the hot water came back the next day. The breakfast was awesome. Great location as well.

“pretty good location, great place”

The hotel is very close to the Convention Center, St. George Mall, Green Market and other interesting points, and is within walking distance to the V&A waterfront. Rooms are nice and clean, and have a nice kitchenette if you like to warm up something on the fly (interestingly, they had dishes and cups etc., but no silverware). On the negative side, there are some pest-control issues, even though the place is spotless. also, sadly there was ongoing construction across the square, which made for some early-morning noise (which was not exactly the hotel's fault, of course). The personnel was nice and helpful in getting taxicab rides etc. The hotel has a restaurant, which is useful as a last-resort, since most downtown places close early; the food was not bad, if a bit spare on the vegetarian side. Overall, I would recommend this place to the business traveler

“To recommend”

This hotel is in the business quarter of the town centre. The rooms are spacious and clean. The service, particularly the concierge, is first rate to help you with all that you need, crucially including parking your car. Breakfasts are pleasant in the associated restaurant. The one negative for us was that our room was opposite a service door which was banging from 6.30am on. Perhaps we should have complained...
