“Great Holiday”

Fantastic hotel, staff friendly. A little distance from the waterfront and shuttle bus was infrequent off season. Decoration is amazing and typically old English at its best. Relaxing and comfortable.

“Fantastic.....”

We arrived in Cape Town for an 8 day visit as part of our wedding anniversary trip. We were not let down at all, all members of the the staff went beyond the call of duty and made sure we had everything that we needed to ensure a fantastic stay. I would say to anyone who is thinking of going to Cape Town to stay here, its close enough to be away from the hustle of the V&A but close enough to get to when you want to.

Can't recommend enough. Wonderful grounds, buildings, rooms, pools, staff, restaurants, bars etc.. Good views of Table Mountain. Also visited other hotels whilst in Cape Town and the Nellie wins hands down. Short taxi from V&A Waterfront. Back entrance on to Kloof street with several good restaurants. Short walk from Long St, lively street with many bars and restaurants

“It captures the very essense of luxury and excellent service”

Superb hotel, excellent service without the stuffiness. A more regular shuttle service to & from the V&A and having a car hire desk would be the only areas for improvement.

“Comfy in Capetown”

From the moment we arrived, the staff at Mount Nelson gave us such personal attention, that we felt that we could have been the only guests at the hotel! The food was good, the location ideal for visiting Table Mountain, and it was an easy journey to and from the airport. The hotel rooms are comfortable, with modern ameneties, but the property still manages to convey a very historic feel to it. Although it is not on the waterfront, it is a quick trip there by taxi, and there are some great restaurants/cafes within an easy walk from the hotel. It is also very close to the Table Mountain cable car, which can be accessed via the two complimentary cars offered by the hotel. It is these little touches that make a difference when staying somewhere, and are very much appreciated by the guests.

“Old World Charm, with updated ammenities”

We were extremely impressed with our stay at the Mt. Nelson. Having visited 10 years ago we weren't sure what to expect. Well the Colonial elegance we remembered was still there (including high tea) but our room as well as the other facilities had been newly renovated. It was an unforgetable location for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary!

“Fantastic Honeymoon”

We have just come back from our honeymoon in Cape Town and cannot recommend the Mount Nelson enough. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. tHe setting is magnificent and the room was spacious and comfortable. Any concerns that the hotel, due to its history and grandeur would be at all stuffy and pretentious were quickly dispelled by the informal but helpful staff. Breakfasts were fantastic and the health spa modern and good value. We didnt eat in the hotel in the evening though afternoon tea is a must , I would recommend this hotel to anyone . It is especially good value given the weakness of the rand against the pound

“Friendly and efficient”

My 2nd visit here, this time for a 9-day vacation. It would be difficult to find a hotel anywhere with friendlier staff or more efficient service. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished, the dining simply excellent and the concierge very knowledgable and helpful. The hotel is a little way from the centre of things, but this is compensated for by being a peaceful oasis in a vibrant city.
