“Service was amazing!”

This hotel had amazing customer service, and was in a central location. I loved Cape Town, and can't wait to go back!!

“Outstanding service and funky hotel!”

Stayed here for (sadly) two nights - arrived early and was aware that I couldn't check in before two pm - reception staff confirmed this but as I was meeting a friend, this was no problem - offered free coffee while waiting and during this, my room became available and I was checked in (outstanding service) - room itself was excellent, though the in-suite shower is not frosted over - so no being coy! - but this is my only "gripe" - perfect bed (sheets not duvets) and enough pillows for a great nights sleep. Swimming pool is small but bar and restaurant both highly recommended. The public bathrooms really are funky and hip and each one is based on a different theme - the staff are excellent and I was very sorry to leave this great hotel - book without delay!

“Cape Town's Best Hotel!”

This hotel is great! Amazing decor, very friendly staff that routinely went above and beyond the call of duty; one front desk attendant walked with me to the gas station to get a snack at 3am. Do be advised though, the pool is right next to the restaurant with underwater viewing from the restaurant into the swimming pool.

We started our two week trip with two nights at Fire and Ice as a special treat before setting off on a road trip. It was fantastic. I can't believe no one else mentioned the food! My partner had the best gourmet burger he has ever had!!! The breastfast is well worth having and plenty for me to eat as a vegetarian. The décor is great and the individually styled toilets are hilarious. I would happily go back there.

“Great Stay”

We had a great stay at the Fire and Ice, the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. All of them could find time to chat about what you had done that day and to suggest further things to do in Cape Town. The rooms were smallish but confortable and the rest of the hotel smart and stylish if a bit quirky(try the toilets in the bar area and the lifts). Positioned slightly away from the V & A (50R taxi fare) but walking distance to Long Street and the centre.

“Protea is Cool!”

Very hip and tongue in cheeky hotel. The lobby and bar area are very cool and hip. The bathrooms in the bar area are all individually themed and very funny. Also, the elevator created like a shark tank is classic. The rooms are a bit small, but very new and modern. Its a very nice 3 star hotel. The only issue is that its not recommended to walk the neighborhood at night which is a slight inconvenience, but its very close to everything, so in the end, this is fine! The other issue is that the heating was not working for 2 days in the room, but we were credited one night and moved to an upgraded room eventually. Great and hip hotel!! Check it out!

good qualiy hotel near city and table top mountain staff helpful and friendly good size room free wifi internet access 5 mins walk from Long Street which by day good for shopping and by night many bars and resturants ( including a Irish bar)

“Best hotel in Cape Town”

I literally cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. It was the best hotel in Cape Town, hands down. The chic, contemporary design, uber comfortable beds, picturesque view of Table Mountain and AMAZING value makes the Fire & Ice unbeatable. It's young and hip and oh, has delicious food! Conveniently located to tourist hot spots. I loved this place and will stay here every time I visit Cape Town. If you're a fan of comfort, luxury on a budget, and smart elegant design, you'll love this place too. Be sure to visit all 5 bathrooms in the lobby - witty and beautifully unique. The only negatives I can come up with are a lack of dedicate concierge service (this is handled randomly by front desk staff) and limited ability to convert money for guests. You can convert money at the Waterfront which is close by and costs R50 in a taxi to get there. The front desk does a decent job but certainly aren't as effective as a real concierge. But it still gets 5 stars from me overall and as I said, has earned my repeat business.
